Lotza appointments

Now that the house and yard is mostly taken care of, we can concentrate on the medical appointments this week.   Far Guy has three medical appointments and one misc appointment. I had four appointments but I cancelled two of them...Jen can remove my stitches from the biopsy in my forehead and PT is going well so it can be rescheduled in two weeks.  BTW my biopsy came back with clean edges so that was good news!  So between us we still have six places to be on various days this week.

These Mums were outside the Farm Supply place where we went to get Tilly a new battery.  She refused to start the day before she was supposed to get her transmission checked.  Hopefully she will start now and eventually she can make it to her appointment one day soon.  My baby brother and his bride helped to get the battery loaded in the car so we could take it for an exchange.   My baby bother was also here several afternoons taking care of leaves!  We appreciate all the help!

Supper was homemade pizza.  It was really good!  I think a twice baked crust was the secret!

Minnesota Weather: High 51F or 11C  Low was 34F or 1C eh!

The last outside water hose was disconnected. All the misc "stuff" that was in Ranger Blue was put away.  We went to town for a prescription with stops to recycle and to drop off outgoing mail, and a book to the local little library.

The Ben Franklin store in town is now closed...they moved the store to a different town...not sure where...but as nasty as that guy was I hope the door hit him in the you know what on his way out of town. (he let it be known that he could not survive on the Winter time locals, there would be no going out of business sale and to stop asking because all inventory would be moved to a new location and there would be no warning as to when the store would close)

  1. Hope all the appointments have good outcomes. God bless the winter time locals.

I don’t but mums anymore. They look like the picture in he store and then ugly soon after.

  2. That is a whole lot of appointments. I've got one myself this week, a dentist visit.

  3. I hate to say this but your doctor appointment schedule exhausts me. It seems like a full time job except you don't get paid, you pay them!

I have started my yard winterization by mowing the lawn fairly short so that the leaves don't hang around and blow on into the tree line. I haven't yet picked up the hoses but that will be soon.

I learned how to cook pizza in cast iron skillets. I preheat them in the oven at 450 degrees to get them really hot and then remove them and pour a little olive oil in them. I then put in the crust which starts sizzling and cooking as I add the rest of the toppings and then stick it in the oven. When it comes out, the crust is crispier than oven baked on a cold cookie sheet and best of all, I can load it piled high of veggies and other toppings. It is our go to pizza cooking method for the last ten years or so.

  4. I hope all of your appointments go well.
Tilly apparently didn't want to go to the garage? :)
Sounds like the business man didn't have a whole lot of customer service appreciation.

  5. Nasty storeowner indeed. Glad the rest of the news was good. It is time for me to think about draining my hoses and putting them away. We have been in a mild drought situation so I am debating whether I need to water the new plantings from this year one more time. They are between just making it on their own and needing a little help.

  6. What a nasty person! It's raining again today. We are soaked, sodden, and drenched. My worry now is this will be the last moisture until Spring. Boy, I hope not.

  7. I didn't know there were still Ben Franklin stores. With an owner like that, I wonder how long that one will last.

  8. I am laughing reading about the Ben Franklin store owner. He sounds like he might be missing the Joy of Jesus! His personality didn't have anything to do with his lack of business, did it?!! Your updates sound great. I love when God piles on some good news and blessings - - like help from family. They are a much needed reward after what you and your sweet husband have encountered this year with your health.

  10. That sounds like a real pleasant guy! No great loss, I'd say. Lots of appointments and good news on the biopsy.

  11. Good news re the biopsy. Ben Franklin - a memory of years ago - I didn't know any of them still existed. And you've reminded me I need to get the water shut off. Winter is almost here!

  12. Family helpers are a blessing! It seems that your calendar is as filled with medical appointments as mine is. I swear I’ve been one or more doctors every week this summer and fall.

  13. Wasn't he a fun business owner! Good riddance to him. I'm sorry you lost the store, too. We are overwhelmed with places to be this week. Fortunately no medical appointments since I had to reschedule the two we had to the last week of the month.

  14. That is a lot of appointments. Another busy week. I can see why you wanted to cancel a couple of them. So glad you are getting help. Sounds like you are pretty much ready for winter. Tilly is moving again...and the nasty store owner is gone. ;)

  15. What a terrible attitude - Perhaps that was part of the reason why the local population couldn't support his store...why would they want to shop there?! (Oh, yeah...he was probably the only game in town. Ugh!)

  16. Good news on the biopsy report! Sounds like you have a lot of things going on this week.

  17. The rude store owner will not be missed by many I'm sure. Although the store itself is probably missed. Sounds like you are ready for winter. We haven't had any frost yet here. Dave rolled up and put away the garden hoses he had out to try to grow grass in an area where the water lines had been dug up and replaced this summer. All those mums have been gorgeous this fall, but I haven't bought one.

  18. LD...One appointment ruins my whole day. I can't imagine doing that many of them. Good riddance to the Ben Franklin guy. When we we visited Grand Rapids in the summer we had too many owners of stores that were rude to us summer folk. I thought they would like us shopping there.

  19. We don't reschedule Doctor appointments because unless someone cancels you might not get in for a year so if we're in the system we usually can only get in six months at the soonest and that is normal for here and eighty miles out! It's scary. I haven't even been able to get my yearly physical yet. Glad that you have so much help!
