Flowers

The Gaillardia  or Blanket flowers are blooming, they will bloom now until frost takes them out.

The Daisies are blooming too.

Another quiet day....more scrubbing and napping.

We are waiting for the lake people to do fireworks but so far nothing is happening.  Usually the days before the 4th and the days after are filled with pops and booms.

Far Side

  1. We had pops & booms last night. We're having a Grand spend the night of the 4th & we might produce a few crackles & little booms ourselves. A thunderstorm rolled through & knocked some trees down in a campground nearby. Karen

  2. Same here. I expect the sounds to start soon, and continue into the middle of the week. :-(

  3. Your picture of blanket flowers and daisies remind me of meadow flowers…a sea of color as far as the eye can see, lol. I can picture them in my mind but can’t remember where. ❤️

  4. I planted some blanket flowers from seed but they didn't make it...there were just a few that germinated from old seed. Yours are lovely. There's been booms going on here but they stop early enough.

  5. I have never had much luck growing Gaillardia. I think of them as more of an annual, than a tender perennial. Mine never came back or re-seeded. Your's are SO pretty!!

  7. We have some random gaillard out by the road that I noticed yesterday. It's in bloom too. This kills me because I can't for the life of me get them to grow in my garden.

  8. Blanket flower grows wild here too. I have yet to explore the local fauna, most of the land here is cultivated.

  9. What a lovely photo of the gallardia and daisies!

We had fireworks on Saturday evening. My son said it was local neighbourhood rather than the city that I heard. They went on and on for nearly 45 minutes. Too much for me.

  10. The flowers are so pretty. I love daisies, but never had luck getting them going at our previous house. Haven't tried here but I do enjoy seeing the carpet of cheerful daisies at a friend's yard.

  11. Lovely flowers. I hope we don't have fireworks. Some places aren't doing them because of fire risk. I know Mpls isn't.

  12. Beautiful! My daisies are just starting to bloom, which feels very late for them - usually they start around mid June

  13. Our county neighbors are shooting off all of the time. Our city people will hit us tomorrow all day. We will sit in our sun room and watch and maybe go out on our deck. My blanket flowers are still alive for now.

  14. I do love blanket flowers...and daisies, too...so what a sight! :) :)
I already heard a few pops and bangs in Fargo last week. But not much. Seems less than usual, truly.

  15. Sadly, my Gaillardia didn’t survive the long winter. They are such happy flowers.

  16. My neighborhood has been celebrating for days. The other night I thought birds were hitting my windows, the pops were echoing off the glass!

It has been surprisingly quiet here so far.

  18. The flowers are so pretty. We are waiting for rain....which is in the forecast and on the radar map, but so far only a drop or two on the windows. What a strange summer this is so far for us.
