Trillium in bud
Such a beautiful flower.
We finally got a little sunshine and had a day about 70 degrees yesterday. The grass seed that we planted before the rains began are beginning to germinate. Good timing.

I always seem to not be able to find trillium around here and am too early or too late when I get back to the valley that usually has hundreds of them.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty little flower. Don't think I've seen any around here. These days I'm thankful for any sunshine I can get and/or a cloudy day . Sure don't need anymore rain.
ReplyDeleteI have two near the house, but the big ones on the edge of the forest have mosquitoes protecting them!!! I keep forgetting to look for them.
ReplyDeleteMy son's former neighbor, a photographer, discovered a hidden field of trillium near a local park and uses it each year for spring photography sessions. I have a wonderful album of a tea party with my granddaughters. The field is just gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteNalley Valley had trillium and I loved it so much. Thanks for sharing the photos. Glad you are warming a little. We planted grass seed, but then it quit raining for weeks and now temps daily are near 100.

I never knew what those little flowers were called... thank you for educating me. :) It's still rather chilly here in northwest Indiana. It got down to 50 degrees last night and a friend commented that it feels like "winter" around these parts, to her. The year is nearly half over and we haven't had any real warmth on our bones yet. Maybe this will be "one of those summers". It certainly won't be the first. Love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteWoukd you believe I have never seen white trillium? I love the red, though. Just think it odd that I have never seen white. So many woods plants are beautiful...I enjoy their leaves even.

ReplyDeleteTrilliums are so pretty but I don't think I've ever seen one in "real life". I did recently see a photo of a red one which surprised me. I thought they just came in white.
ReplyDeleteCatching up here lol The Trillium is our Ontario provincial flower and we have tons in our valley woods here , they are soo pretty as they blanket the forest ground . Lovely photos .
ReplyDeleteThe Trillium is beautiful! They aren't native to Saskatchewan so I've only ever seen them in photos. Glad to hear the weather is improving.

ReplyDeleteTrillium is a neat plant. I was told that seed that I had scattered wasn’t going to grow but the warm weather did wake it up to make it sprout. I am glad you are starting to get some warm.
