The wind blew. It blew so hard an inch of snow was moved from the snowstick. It was a blizzard.
We heard the driveways were all blocked by drifts and local roads were one lane covered by drifts…big ole 4 wheel drive trucks like my other baby brother has made it through…but when he got to the highway visibility was zero…so he came back home and stopped to tell us about it.
Back here in the woods the snow moved around and the tree tops were in motion all day long.

I used the power shovel once during the day to clear off the walk in front of the house.
I knitted and did some indexing at Family Search. Far Guy worked on a woodcarving.
We cooked supper for my other baby brother and his bride…BBQ ribs, cooked carrots and french fries in the air fryer. Since they live next door they didn’t have to venture out too far. We really like our air fryer…makes great homemade french fries! My other baby brother thought so too. We have a french fry cutter that makes short work of a potato with the skin on…then they are air dried a bit and put in a bowl with about a half of a teaspoon of olive oil before going into the air fryer for about 20 minutes.

We had the wind yesterday. Boy, was it blowing strong. Today it is in the single digits with wind chills below zero. I am getting a bad case of cabin fever.

DeleteThe roads pretty much around here were closed by evening too. Looks like your snow stick may disappear soon! Hopefully we will have a break from this snow...sometime.
ReplyDeleteWe had 50 mph winds for most of the day. Crazy time! Trees everywhere, trucks flipped over, roofs torn off, sheds flying by. It felt like we were in Oz! I agree with Linda M. Cabin Fever!

ReplyDeleteWe're colder still today but less wind, so the windchills aren't as cold as forecast. Thank goodness as I have to be out of the house today.
We had the wind yesterday too and stayed home. We went to a college basketball game on Saturday and had a 3 hour drive home instead of a 1:45 drive home. It was ugly, and made worse by being dark outside. Made us think we had been foolish to go although the roads had been fine when we left, and the wind wasn't predicted to start until later. But, surprise!

A little bit above freezing today, so not much change with our snow I don't think. It will have a hard crust on it this morning. Glad you are keeping busy inside, stay safe!

ReplyDeleteIt was quite a day south of the line too. From the way my deck has been making noises I think I need to scoop off that snow. Snow is heavier than one would think. It is nice to have company while being in a blizzard.

ReplyDeleteLittle June looks pretty big to me! Like others here I am curious about the air fryer. What other foods can you cook in it and how do they turn out? I've considered getting one but our space is so limited for small appliances that I have to get a lot of use out of one to make it worth buying.
ReplyDeleteSo far we have done home made french fries. We also tried some tator tots but they got really crispy as we air fried them too long. I have a recipe for apple fritters...but have not tried it yet.
DeleteHow crazy is this weather? We didn’t have a blizzard but it sure is cold and it snowed some more. And more is predicted for Wednesday. I can’t believe it’s still snowing this close to March. Stay warm and inside.

Just yesterday we were looking at an air fryer at Walmart. I'm convinced it does a good job but I'm worried about all the delicious air-fried foods we would eat.

ReplyDeleteThin potato wedges coated with a touch of olive oil can be baked in a 425 oven and done in 20 minutes. yummy, but maybe not as crispy as your fryer.
