The grass turned real green after a rain yesterday.
Soon I will have to mow.
The Chokecherries have busted through their buds. I hope they don’t freeze, even if I don’t make jelly the birds love the berries.
We enjoy the green, and the warmth. Far Guy is carving outside most afternoons. We both worked on stage two of the carvings for this years Christmas Ornament…stage one is done…cutting the wood to length…stage two is marking the centers and then they go to the lathe…so far I am just the marker…no lathe experience for me …yet. Stage three will be the actual carving…I have several done and one is painted and totally finished.
Cleaned the leaves and dead grass out of the perennial grass on the east side of the house. If you do it every year you get two wheelbarros full, if you leave it for a few years it takes many more wheelbarrows and becomes a big project.
So good to finally have good weather. Enjoy the carving.
ReplyDeleteFinally! Spring has arrived!
ReplyDeleteWarmer temps here has brought green grass and a few leaves - a freeze is still a possibility here, too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like your new ornament is well into its production phase. Enjoy!
Look at you with green grass! You're making up for lost time that's for sure. Outside carving season already? You 2 don't let any grass grow under your feet. Enjoy the good weather. We're getting too hot for me already....it's supposed to be 83 today and I can feel some humidity.......that's the part I don't like...give me a dry heat any day compared to humidity. I can't wait to see the 2018 ornament. Enjoy your good weather.
ReplyDeleteOurs turned green here this past week, too. We had 81 degrees one day already and they are predicting 84 for tomorrow. Yup--looks like we skipped spring.
ReplyDeleteCan hardly wait to see your ornaments for this year. :)
How quickly it can go from snowbank to mowing the grass!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful when things start to green up. I've already had to cut our grass once and need to again already. I can't wait to see what the Christmas carving is but I know it will be awhile. It is fun hearing about the progress!
ReplyDeleteIsn't nice to have nice weather, although having to mow can be a pain
ReplyDeleteThings green up rapidly when we get warm weather after a late spring.
ReplyDeleteWell Connie, since you named your snowbank June, I decided to go ahead and name my snowbank Alvin! Alvin is now about as high as my waist...which is a lot better than he used to be, which was up to the roof! Alvin was really a monster but is now shrinking like the wicked witch of the west! Can't wait to say goodbye to Alvin! We haven't had a thunderstorm yet, but everybody around us seems to be getting them. Good for you, out cleaning up things around your yard. Hope you're feeling better too!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you have "green" - we have "green" also. We have had some very nice days but could use some more rain.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that spring has finally come to you! It took awhile for June to leave. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe are in full mowing mode here. Sigh... :-(
