The weather is changing. We may have a winter storm one day soon…possibly Friday maybe today we will see how it plays out. It could melt…the first snow hardly ever stays…the third one usually stays for the entire winter.
I might need more than Crocs with socks soon.
Probably time to get out my snowboots and some mittens and a shovel.
I changed the flag. If it storms I will bake some pumpkin bread!
We have enjoyed the last few days of sunshine. We took our afternoon walk in a few local cemeteries.
One cemetery was just full of these fungi. They must have blown their tops!
I guess we are ready for winter, the bird bath will go away today along with the watering can. Ready or not here comes winter. We knew it had to happen sooner or later.
Good Morning. That's a lovely Thanksgiving flag and I love seeing the sunshine on your home. Ugh on the winter weather. We are expecting much colder temps also. Been meaning to tell you that I love your new header, also. Once you take down the bird bath etc., seems like you are ready. John finished staining our new front deck yesterday. I'm thankful it was pleasant weather until he finished that job. Take care and have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get just a little snow to start off the season, not a whole blizzard!
ReplyDeleteI remember walking to school and stomping puffballs to see their "smoke" explode. I think there were s lot more around back then.
Interesting mushrooms/puff balls?
ReplyDeleteMost likely some kind of Puffball I am not sure thats why I called them fungi:)
DeleteThose are some interesting mushrooms - it does look like they blew their top. Hubby and I have been slowly getting the outside ready for Winter. Hoping the snow holds off for a while yet. Pumpkin bread sure sounds good right about now.
ReplyDeleteWinter has arrived in Wyoming and it's headed your way. Snowing and blowing here this morning (2-3" on the ground) and snow will continue through the day at 100% chance of precipitation. I suppose we will get about 6-7 inches total.
ReplyDeleteBake the pumpkin bread even if it doesn't snow. Amazing mushrooms.
ReplyDeleteWinter is about to enter the south this week-end.
ReplyDeleteBut no snow!
Winter is here. I'm working inside and enjoying being warm...the wind is terrible outside.
ReplyDeleteLinda
We've had two snows before this and all of it melted so I hope the same happens to you. It's late for not having snow.
ReplyDeleteIt was 80* here in Kansas yesterday. Crazy! Yes, winter is coming whether we like it not! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteSurely you need to provide water for birds in winter even more than in summer? Water which is kept unfrozen?
ReplyDeleteHere it’s just wet and windy and unpleasantly chilly. I’d love a real winter with snow and ice. We have no real low temperatures, just that dank feeling of chill.
Enjoy your snow when it comes.
Nope it is impossible to keep water unfrozen in a Minnesota winter...all the birds eat snow :)
DeleteMmmm...pumpkin bread! Can I come visit?
ReplyDeleteYes but the roads will be horrid! :)
DeleteHope I get the leaves raked before we have snow here, but then I'm usually raking leaves until March. We rarely have any snow before February. Your flag is pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe have snow and a cold N.W. Wind here today....I'm sure it will wing it's way to your house soon.
ReplyDeleteThose are the weirdest mushrooms I've ever seen. They sure do look like they blew their tops! :-)
ReplyDeleteThose are very weird what-ever-they-ares.
ReplyDeleteIt has turned clod here too, although no frost yet. The snow level is lowering in the mountains.
Weird mushrooms! Enjoy the storm if it comes. We are now back to plus degrees.
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm getting ready too as a front came through today with some rain (thank goodness....fire danger was high) and with it came cooler temps....yesterday was near 80 and now it is 51...fine by me! We did have a long and beautiful fall down here though so I can't complain. Lucky you! I don't even have the weather channel so I can't watch the videos of the snow reports. Maybe You Tube? Stay warm and get those boots out!
ReplyDeleteThe stairwell to the basement is handy for me as I toss the cushions and stray watering cans down inside of it. Later I will open the door while in the basement and distribute it to their locations.
