Our rain amount increases just about every day.
The Shell River at the Dead Beaver Area is up….not over the road yet. And no I did not get out of the vehicle to see how much more until the culvert is full.
You can probably hear the corn grow inbetween rain storms.
Dry Farmer’s field is looking good. I could see some tassels just emerging.
I am waiting for the rain to stop so I can mow the lawn. I have been keeping busy inside, seems like I always find something to do.
We have a couple of wild dogs running around. We are keeping a good eye on Chance. We don’t want him hurt. Two dogs could overpower the old guy. Far Guy is taking his hiking stick with him when he walks. I encountered the Black Lab/Pitbull Mix one morning, I think his name is Chance or something that sounds like Chance. I have not seen the Great Dane yet. I have been trying to get a photo of them with no luck. Social Media has been no help finding the owners IF they want to be found.
Our Internet Provider is having issues since the storm the other day, our internet is intermittent at best. They say they are working on it.
PLEASE send some my way, it's way to dry!
ReplyDeleteWe could use some of your rain. Please be careful with those wild dogs around. They can overpower you in a minute.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I hate to make a cliche, but when it rains... now I'm worried about Chance. I hope those dogs are captured so they can be properly taken care of. :-(
ReplyDeleteSounds much the same as here. I picked up some more bedding plants for a spot in the flower bed and can get the weeds hoed out to plant them it's so wet. My lawn needs mowed too but it's drizzling again this morning.
ReplyDeleteMine has acted up for days...sucks!
ReplyDeleteI so understand your worry for Chance...wild dogs are much worse than coyotes...but you know that.
Linda
I would be really watching for those dogs. When there's more than one they get a pack mentality. And....I *never* trust anything pitbull.
ReplyDeleteI'd be worried about Chance, too!! Makes you wonder if they were deliberately abandoned. So many people think they can just drop off dogs and cats in the country and they'll be just fine. Ignorant people! You all need sticks. Wild dogs are totally unpredictable.
ReplyDeleteThe rain isn't supposed to leave us be for a while yet, either. Keeps saying chance of rain every day. It's raining here right now again. And yet the grass next to the walking path is still yellow and brown.
I'd be packing some heat taking walks until those dogs are dealt with. Love the Chance photo in your header, those ears crack me up!
ReplyDeleteWe had that problem here with two stray dogs and had to call animal control and they eventually got them. They were a pit bull mix, too. They are frightening when they are half feral and hungry.
ReplyDeleteI guess for you it can stop raining anytime.
ReplyDeleteOh dear...
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to see all of the crops so nice and green and my yard looks pretty darn good too! Those darn wandering dogs - be careful! We got a call last night from one of your neighbors asking if the white dog was ours....
ReplyDeleteWe are getting a lot of rain here in Kansas too!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it something that we always find things to do in the house. Or in the garden. There is no such thing as nothing needs doing.
ReplyDeleteDo be very careful of those feral dogs.
I hope you don't have the awful flooding that is hitting some parts of the state.
ReplyDeleteI am tired of all the rains and so far it has backed off for a while. It must take a special bad dog owner to get dogs to go into pack behaviors. My Philippine friend on the other side of town has a dog that just loves to roam. He would lick people to death and is mad when I yell his name"Jake" and comes to get into my car to go home. His young people owners leave the gates unlatched.
ReplyDeleteDisgusting that people don't take responsibility for their animals. My daughter has a "group" down the street from her (in the city, mind you) that lets a pitbull run and she has little ones. It's too scary! My girls stay in their yard but I am always checking on them and if anyone walks by I always call them in so they don't scare anyone...well, Nitty, the Rott, although truth be told Annie is the one to watch out for! LOL! She chased a dog the size of Nitty out of our yard and Nitty wanted to play with it. Poor Nitty, gets a friend her size finally and Annie chases it away! LOL!
