My parents celebrate for a whole week in October. It was their 61st Anniversary last Friday. They celebrated it by helping my sister bale hay.
Dad and Mom October 09, 2011
Dad was 85 yesterday. He still plans to live to be 100. He laughs at me and says “You will be 75 then.” I always reply, “Dad you can go on without me.”
These beautiful/handsome youngins are all of my other baby brothers grand's. The four oldest are all in first grade this year. Miss Brooke (she is two) just did not want to sit with the rest of the kids. Miss Aubrey( she is three) down front in the pink top and pigtails..was not real happy either. She is recovering from recent surgeries..a tonsillectomy in August and pallet repair surgery just three weeks ago. So far she has endured five surgeries for a double cleft pallet. Now she can say words that begin with P and B.. in a few weeks she will go back to preschool.
My Moms birthday rounds out the week..she will be 82 on Thursday. Mom made cakes with rice flour because Dad cannot have gluten. They were delicious:)
Congratulations to your parents! What a fine brood, even the grumpy ones! :):)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and precious photos. Happy Wishes to your parents. I hope little Brooke feels better soon - the surgeries must be very difficult for someone so young and active.
ReplyDeleteExcuse me, I meant Aubrey.
ReplyDeleteTell them congratulations from me. They look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your parents! You are so lucky to still have them around (mine are both deceased). They look very good and healthy for their age.

ReplyDeleteWell Happy Anniversary to your parents and a Happy Birthday to your mother. Big family there. That is just your brothers bunch? Wow.
ReplyDeleteIt is a neat picture of the two of them. It is great that they can enjoy all the offspring of the offspring.
ReplyDeleteWeeks like this are eciting. Around here most birthdays are in Oct. Oct birthdays...my son and daughter, my brother, ME, nephew. So we have fun.
ReplyDeleteYour parents really know how to celebrate! Baling hay and gathering with the family. That's probably why they look so good, too - hard work and lots of love.
ReplyDeleteAh- how lovely to have such active parents! Wish them all the best from me.
ReplyDeleteAsk your mom where she gets her gluten free recipes. Hubby and I have been wheat free, gluten free for over a month. I am still looking for recipes.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, fun, fun! I hope you charish your parents, oh, I know you do, but I just want you to add just a pinch more cherish just for me. How long has your dad not been able to eat wheat? Bet has made wheat free rye crackers, corn bread and today chocolate zucchini cake! Okay Bet and I ate a whole half of the recipe! She is off dairy, wheat, peanuts, and potatoes! I don't think any of them are the problem but it sure is making us add a lot of different flours into our diet, which we have kept meaning to.
