I enjoyed the recent book club read. I give it a 9 out of a 10. It is historical fiction that takes place in the early 1950's in Washington DC. Kate Quinn wrote The Briar Club.
All of the gals at book club enjoyed the book.
Thursday was a quiet day around here, I did some laundry and cleaned out two drawers in the kitchen.
I made supper...some of those small rock lobsters and steak along with some crispy tater rounds and coleslaw. Andy is off to a Vex Robotics tournament...he doesn't like any kind of fish or seafood....so we had it in his absence.
Minnesota weather; High 37F or 3C Low was 10F or -12C eh! We are in a Winter weather advisory until Friday evening...snow and wind.
I continue to work on the big sort of photographs for albums. I hope to finish in the next week maybe two....by February 1st for sure! I have updated 3 out of 5 of the Grands albums.
Far Side
I’ll look for the book.
ReplyDeleteI love fish even frozen fish filets.
It's hard to thinkof a book about the 1950s as historical fiction, but it is.
ReplyDeleteYou’re making great progress on your photo project. Wish I could say the same for my putting away all of Christmas and redecorating for winter. 😞 RHill, TX
ReplyDeleteIt's been very windy here. It blew my hearing aid out of my ear.
ReplyDeleteWe are having a tad warmer weather here! Which is nice....but we do need snow
ReplyDeleteWe have "grapple" today. Do you call it that up north? It's a mix of snow & ice but soft. Little balls of grapple. You're accomplishing quite a bit with your photo project. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Some times called snice ( snow and ice) or snirt (snow and dirt) Yes I have also heard it called graupel
DeleteSounds like a book I will enjoy. Thanks for the recommendation. It was snowing last night when we left Brookings after the game. Drove in rain/snow most of the way home. We got maybe an inch overnight - but the 30+ mph winds are blowing it all over. I hate wind more than I do most any other weather.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're making good progress with the albums.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of most seafood either, fish is the exception, but I probably wouldn't go to a robotics competition either. :p
This book is on my "to be read" lists. Your dinner sounds decadent! Your grands are lucky!!
ReplyDeleteNeither of us are seafood lovers either. Maybe salmon once in a while. And here we are not too far from the coast! You're making excellent progress on your photo albums.
ReplyDeleteOh, that looks good, but I cannot put any more books on my list!!!
ReplyDeleteWe just have snow, and wind, and then more snow. We have had some light winters in the past few years and I guess Mother Nature is making up for it this January!
Thanks for the book recommendation. The wind has been howling here more than normal - still no substantial snow, which is probably a good thing with the wind.
ReplyDeleteOoh your dinner sounds yummy. Keep working on those albums...what a big job for you. Hope you all survive the snow. We got a lot today but it all fell nice and quietly and beautifully too. Take good care.
