It was a pretty Fall day high in the mid 40's and sunny. Nice weather!!
Far Guy did not have to wait around for his radiation treatment yesterday. He barely sat down and they called his name. I went with him to wait after the really long wait for his treatment the previous day. 35 minutes and we were in and out of the Cancer Center. Yeah us! Three treatments down and seventeen to go.
We picked up our grocery order from Walmart and prescriptions at the corner of happy and healthy where for once they actually had the right prescriptions. Will wonders ever cease?
Not so nice...I had to seen at the Express Clinic. Since I have RA other things happen from time to time. Pleurisy, I had it one time years ago, I am on meds for the next five days and hope it is all gone by then. Pleurisy is pain from inflammation when your lung rubs up against your chest wall. Uffda...it is no fun but hopefully will be all better soon. Luckily I only have the pain on my right side. Old people get the darndest stuff.
Really nice that this dog still loves us.

Oh dang, one more awful thing to deal with.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better quickly.
When I used to take Rich to his radiation treatments, it took me longer to find a parking spot than it did for the treatment. But each one is different.
I'm glad you don't have to drive a long trip each way though.
I had pleurisy once. It really hurt. I had a bad cough and kept thinking I’d get over it, but it just got worse and finally I had pleurisy. I went to the Dr. then. With medicine I got over it, but i was young and strong then. I wouldn’t want it today. Glad you got medicine. Maybe it won’t last like mine did.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day FG had at treatment. No waiting.
Dogs are full of love. If we were half as loving, we’d be sweet people.
I sure hope all is better for the both of you soon. I am just now finding out what ailments befall on us as we age. One came out of no where for me. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteso sorry to hear about pleurisy. my dad had a bout with it when I was a kid. he was miserable. get better
ReplyDeleteoops - somehow didn't click on my profile....single handed typing and all that!
DeleteSurely to goodness, that's enough health issues for you. I hope the pleurisy clears up quickly.
ReplyDeleteHappy for Far Guy that the machines were up and running!
I bet it's nice to come home to the pup who loves you. ;)
Of course she loves you, and always will. Dog are like that. Sorry to hear of the latest insult to your body. Hope it gets better soon.
ReplyDeletePleurisy is definitely not nice. I hope you recovery quickly.
ReplyDeleteOh Connie, I'm so sorry. Pleurisy is no fun. My Mom used to get it. Please never ignore it. She tried to once and when she FINALLY went to the doctor, she found out it wasn't the pleurisy flaring, it was a heart attack! I guess they can mimic each other, so please never ignore it my friend. I'm glad that Far Guy's wait was non-existent this time. He has enough to deal with. You both do.
ReplyDeleteSadie is so happy that her other people are there. She thinks you should be there all of the time. A dogs love is like no other isn't it?
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Oh my mom and brother would get bouts of pluercy, cold air for them hurt. Dee
ReplyDeleteSadie is one lucky dog! Prayers for you and FarGuy ALWAYS
ReplyDeleteNothing like some dog love to ease the pain. :)
ReplyDeleteI remember one of my brothers had pleurisy and it was considered a big deal. So I hope your 5 day meds take care of it.
ReplyDeleteOf course Sadie still loves you. There's nothing like the love of a dog.
Getting daily doggy love should be quite healing for both of you. Pleurisy is miserable. Hopefully those next 17 treatments go as well as the first 3. Will all 20 days be in a row, or will there be a break in between?
ReplyDeleteHe only has treatments on weekdays and will have two days off at Thanksgiving
ReplyDeleteUgh! One more thing! Sure hope you two will get a break soon with good health!
ReplyDeleteBetween the two of you you have quite a list of medical adventures. Dog love will help.
ReplyDeleteNo worries.....Sadie will always love you! So sorry to hear about your pleurisy. Gosh...you are so right...when you get older, you never know what it going to attack you next. It has been one of those years for us too. I'm almost afraid to enter into 2026!!! Glad far guys radiation went well and praying for you to be better very soon. Take care you guys. You are loved and prayed for!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the radiation was a 35 minute appointment. Very sad you are dealing with pleurisy, so painful. Gosh darn it. Always something.
ReplyDeleteSweet dog, a real cuddlebug in all the pain and misery.
ReplyDeleteYou two are wearing me out. You need to get it together up there ;-). Just kidding. Keeping you both in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteHooray for a quick radiation treatment day for FG. I have an order - - that I requested - - for an X-ray on the arthritis in my right foot - - to see the progression and make sure there is not a small broken bone - - don't think so. I can go at my leisure - - - no appt for it - - - so will wait until I don't mind if I have to wait.
ReplyDeleteI hope your meds are helping you feel better. You are right about age introducing us to stuff we had not planned on experiencing. It makes you want to just go back to sleep some days. I count it a victory when we wake up in our own bed though and not a hospital bed.
Sadie is such a pretty girl. Far Guys treatments are counting down quick. I sure hope you are ok and feeling better soon!
