Booties and Busy

I have been working on booties for Baby K.  Her feet get cold.  I struggled with the size...but she is growing so the larger ones will fit sooner or later.

I made four pair...one pair is really large:)  I wrote better instructions on my pattern this time.

We will see how they fit Baby K.

Busy week with Radiation for Far Guy and other medical appointments.  Yesterday he was held hostage in the Infusion Center for 2 1/2 hours...someone messed up a couple of times...they thought he was in radiation when in fact he was sitting in an Infusion Chair with his IV in and waiting and waiting...he was not a happy camper.  Our day of appointments started at 8AM and we did not get back home until 2:30 PM. Four appointments and a trip to the pharmacy was too much for one day.  Today (Friday) should be easier....only one appointment.

I had plenty of time to pick up groceries at Wally World, go into Aldi for fresh fruit and to eventually end up in Hobby Lobby for the second time this week....AND I had a good amount of time in the car to crochet while waiting for him to get his weekly infusion.

Possibly some very soft yarn jumped into my cart.   Might be something for little girls...who knows.  Hat, ear warmers...one never knows.

  1. That is awful what FG and you had to endure. At least it's behind you for the week.

  4. Love the booties. Horrible about the confusion over Far Guy's treatment yesterday. Waiting around is always the worst.

  6. Well hopefully his appointments will go more smoothly from now on. That waiting would have been very frustrating. You'll need lots more yarn if you have wait time like this very often. Very cute little booties.

  7. The booties are so sweet. I have trouble replicating the size. They’ll be ready when they fit. I live them. I’ve bought both of the yarns you pictured. They make really soft things for a little one.

Poor FG. I don’t know how he does it all. I sure don’t have his “grit”. Boils down to when things get tough—FG gets tougher.

I understand his frustration. He has enough going on without snafus.

  9. Making these booties and so many other things keeps your mind off some of the problems.

  10. Cute booties! That new yarn looks sooo soft.
I hope they don't mess up any of FarGuy's appointments for the rest of the month!

  11. You’ve had such a long week — I hope today really is a bit lighter for both of you. The booties sound lovely, and I’m sure Baby K will grow into every pair sooner than expected. It’s good you had some quiet time to crochet in between all the appointments.

Take care, and I hope next week brings a calmer rhythm.

  12. It's hard to be patient when others mess up. But all is well that ends well.
That yarn looks so nice and soft, I'msure whatever you make with it will be lovely.

  14. Those are such cute booties and Baby K will be warm and loved by her great-grandma. I'm sorry about the appointments. I know they don't mean it but sometimes it seems like the patients are more of any inconvenience to medical people anymore. And finally, that is really nice and squishy looking yarn. Whatever it ends up as will be so soft and warm.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  15. You did such a great job on those little booties and I love the new yarn you got, so pretty! For appointments in one day is just way too much. I'm glad today was easier. I hope you and Far Guy have a great weekend! :)

  17. The booties are adorable! Hopefully, a lesson was learned and the mixup will not be repeated at the infusion center.

  19. Cute little booties! Babies do grow fast so they won't go amiss.
Poor Far Guy, he can't seem to get a break. But the time for yarn shopping looks like it was spent well. :)

  20. What a long day for Far Guy. For you as well but you had the shopping to do and crocheting to keep you occupied. Hopefully today went a little better.

  21. Oh what beautiful soft yarn jumped into your cart. How awful for far guy to sit there so long being forgotten about. Maddening! Hope all goes better for both of you in the comingt days. Take good care. diane in northern wis
