We are 60 degrees cooler than we were last week at this time. Last Sunday it was 90F+ Saturday morning it almost froze..it was 36F. Minnesota weather is always unpredictable. At least it isn’t snowing.
Today I am packing up the remnants of my garage sale…it went well. I sold a number of items online. Chance was the main greeter when he was allowed outside.
Sometimes it is enough to be near the ball.
Poor fella is struggling again…but he perked up nicely when Odda visited and when a garage sale visitor brought their dog along. Eldercare for dogs continues.
In between visitors I mulched leaves for the third time.
The flowers are still thriving.
Bird Report: The Hummingbirds are gone and the feeders have been taken down. Plump Robins were noted in the yard…they were feeding on grubs or worms…and then poof they were gone. Common Flickers visited our yard one afternoon. Canada Geese can be heard honking when they fly between the fields and the lake. We have Woodpeckers, Chickadees, Nuthatches…and a few obnoxious Crows/Ravens that visit our feeders.
Poor Chance, not feeling well again. Sometimes it's a struggle to get through the day. I know the feeling. And that is a huge temperature change! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe are, we hope, going to be having fall weather at least until the end of October. Migrating birds are passing through and so are the Monarchs. Ohio is seeing more Monarchs than it has seen in many years. Bless Chance. Sweet dog.
ReplyDeleteIt was a shock this morning to wake up to 39 degrees here. Well, a shocker to step outside in bare feet!
ReplyDeleteThe Robins were all over the place this morning which caused Charlie to be very excited.
Poof, by midday they will be gone.
Give Chance a huge hug for me.
We're in cat eldercare. On Monday we found out our 15 year old cat has stage 4 kidney disease. I am heartbroken.
ReplyDeleteYou’re having weather like we were a few weeks ago. Now it’s highs in the 60’s and lows in the 20’s and 30’s. I fear winter will arrive sooner rather than later.
DeleteSweet Chance. I’m sorry he is having such a hard time. You take such good care of him.
Blessings,
Betsy
Autumn's cooler temperatures have arrived here, as well. Odda knew her friend needed cheering up.
ReplyDeleteWe've had some really cool mornings here too. But at least the sun is shining this morning.
ReplyDeleteWe continue with cat eldercare. We have a couple of the little grandkids for the weekend, and it really stresses our 17 year old cat. But I think he finally convinced the 3 year old to leave him alone last night - with some hissing and displaying of sharp teeth.
Autumn weather has arrived here too. Temperatures are cooler, and the Autumn storms have started.
ReplyDeleteGlad your garage sale went well.
Sorry Chance isn't well again.
Hang in there, Chance!
ReplyDeleteYes, fall fell upon us this year.
I'm jealous you have crows coming by. :)
Fall really fell on you!
ReplyDeleteBoomer and I think of you often, Chance! Wish we could be there to give you some doggie pets and maybe Boomer and you could take a nap in the sun together. Hugs
ReplyDeleteLinda
That's a nice assortment of birds you have coming by. I can't imagine anyone liking crows/ravens ( or Starlings either).
ReplyDeleteWe finally have cooler weather and I love it. I'm in no hurry for cold weather but I love turning the air off and opening windows.
ReplyDeleteOur leaves are just beginning to fall so I'll be mulching much later.
Love to Chance!
My hummers are gone too. I guess it just got to be too cold. I have days when I come home and Barney gets up and wags his tail just like the old days and other days he lays around all day. It isn’t easy to figure out what is not going well for them but we just keep trying.
ReplyDeleteWhat? You don't have magpies! I'll send you some.
ReplyDeleteGetting older sucks for all creatures, just my thought.
ReplyDeleteIt is cold and wet here today
60 degrees cooler!! That's a lot! Poor sweet Chance. Will you give him a hug for me?
ReplyDeleteFirst cold day here too - hovering around 3C! Brrrr... Chance is looking good! Glad he's getting great care.
ReplyDeleteWow! I don't know that we've EVER had temps drop that far so fast! It's cooler here too, in lower Michigan. We still have hummingbirds and they're drinking a lot from the feeders. They'll be gone soon though I know.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Chance isn't feeling so good again. Katie has perked up some since the heat broke. She doesn't do heat any more, she used to not mind it so much but she'll be 12 in December and she isn't as tolerant of anything as she used to be. Glad Chance had fun at the yard sale. He's a good boy.
