Whirly Gigs and Geese

Here is someone with more whirly gigs than me…and I think we are related.

someone with more whirly gigs than me

These are to keep the Canda Geese off the area…I wonder if it worked? They can be real pests and once they find a spot to poop…they return until they are chased away.

I am not talking about one goose here and one goose there…a whole flock of geese that are pooping machines.

All photos taken last summer when it was warm.

Just a Cold Update:

Still feel rotten but I am up and about and quiet…because quiet works for me and then I cannot possibly be grumpy.

I watched some brainless tv…some movies that if I had paid to see them I would have walked out. (Dallas Buyers Club 0 stars Are you here 0 Stars Our souls at night 2 stars)  I have weird dreams normally and on cold medicine they are doubly strange.

I hope I turn the corner in a day or two.

  2. I know that about Canada geese all right. They make a real mess of things. I read the book Our Souls at Night and enjoyed it so much I didn't want to see the movie because I was afraid it would spoil it. I'm still in the process of catching up to the present on This Is Us and enjoying it. :-)

  3. I had to chuckle at you saying that if you are quiet you can't be grumpy.
Hope you are tip top soon.

  4. A friend recommended the tv show Better Late Than Never which is on Monday nights, 8 p.m. NBC. I plan to try it tonight. If you have Netflix, the movie Leap Year is watchable.

  7. Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. You're quite right about the Canada geese and what they leave behind. Sidewalks around ponds and lakes can become serious obstacle courses. They have tried several techniques to get them to leave public ponds in this area.

  8. The geese are so bad here that businesses and office parks with large parking lots hire a company that brings out border collies to chase them away! See, Chance could have a paying job! They leave cutout statues of dogs and come out occasionally to move the statues around. It does seem to work. I sure hope your cold goes away soon!

Hope you are better soon. Me, too.

  11. I've heard of golf courses using border collies to "herd" away the geese. Maybe a new job for Chance? :)

  12. We see the Canadas flying from field to field almost every day. It would be so much easier for them to go a little farther south. Our spotting of a flock of trumpeters on the way to church was such a great thing to see. Probably the first time I have ever seen a flock of them in air. Get better soon. Colds are so not any fun and they even mess up sleep, which is what you need.

  13. Not a problem I have ever had to deal with

  14. Pooping geese are a problem here as well. Over by the lake they congregate in large numbers and hang around all winter. The asphalt path is warmer than the grass so they tend to sleep there, leaving their mess.

  15. We know about those pooper geese here too.
    Colds are no fun.

  16. I have pooping dogs here! LOL! I can just imagine what a mess the geese make..we've seen it at the parks here. I sure hope you fee better. On Netflix is When Calls the Heart (series), Father Brown (series) and Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and Anne With an E and Dr. Blakely....that ought to do for awhile. I don't want you to be sick that long!
