Yard Work

Fall yard work is nearing an end.

Yard might be done

The Purple Leaf Sandcherry at the edge of the patio is looking more bare.

Yard Oct 19

Most of the trees in the yard are bare, just a few trees in the woods left to complete the fall.

Yesterday I cleaned up some of my glass flowers and hauled away my gardening bucket. Lawn furniture is making it’s way to my garage piece by piece.

Some of the glass flowers will spend their winter outside to add some color to the snow.

The lawn is nicely green this time of year.

  1. Good Morning, The glass flowers will be pretty against your snow. We brought in our lawn chairs when Hurricane Irma came thru and just never put it back out. Winter is my least favorite season but of course, we are fortunate that our winters are not as severe and long as yours there. Wishing you guys a great weekend.

  3. Well done. We still have plenty of leaves on the trees, but they have turned the most incredible colors. We've got a heavy rain watch and that usually means wind, too. Sigh. Wish we were as close to finished as you are. :-)

  4. We will have a couple weeks, maybe a month before the end of fall.

  5. Few home maintenance tasks are more satisfying than getting the leaves off of the yard for the winter.

  6. It looks like winter is on it's way at your place
We still have tons of leaves to fall.

  7. Be nice that most of your leaves are gone so the leaf battle can subside. Our warm spell was nice. Beautiful fall days this last week. Having a touch of color in the yard will be nice when it turns white. ;)

  8. Autumn is fast moving into winter. Much as I'm not fond of winter I think the bare trees have a beauty of their own.

  9. You do have it looking nice and clean. Oh the leaves here are falling like crazy...and I will be half crazy by January, trying to get them all raked up.

  10. We are having a very dark, rainy afternoon after a lighter rain all morning. It's an autumnal rain, steady and drenching, just what we need. The sun will return by Monday, and then we'll be out beginning the clean up, which will go on and on. It will be December before our yard looks tidy like yours does, and by then yours will probably be blanketed with snow.

  13. Your yard still looks pretty! Our trees did some coloring up this past weekend but there is still quite a bit of green and the trees are not bare at all but this week will probably progress at a fast pace as the cold front moved in and it rained....love this time of year...Halloween weather! This week is low 70's and nighttime 50's so once the rain stops it will be great window washing weather!
