I had great hopes to get a whole bunch of “stuff” done on my list this week. I still have a couple of days left but it is doubtful that they will get accomplished.
Tuesday afternoon we went to the Shot Clinic and got our Flu Shots…I also got a Pneumonia Shot because I was due for one a year ago. I have been just miserable. My body is not liking either shot, both injection sites have swollen to the size of grapefruits. (Ever tried to sit on two grapefruits?) Both areas are hot to the touch as my body is putting up a big fight. I am exhausted and very little is getting done…I think the injections also caused a flare of my Lymes Disease. Far Guy got his shot and he noticed nothing…nothing.
I am thinking that dying from the flu wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
I will be fine, if I were going to croak I am certain it would have happened before now.
Amongst it all we either have TV or Internet …but never both for very long. Grrrrr…
So very sorry you feel so bad. We had our shots about 3 weeks ago. My arm was a little sore but nothing like you are experiencing. Feel better soon and take care.
ReplyDeleteTerrible that you are having such reactions from those shots. I hope you will soon be feeling better. Take good care of yourself in the meantime.

Sorry to hear you are having a bad day. i don't get a flu shot or a pneumonia shot. Figure I'll take my chances. Besides I auto ornery to die from either. I hope you reported your reaction to the clinic. I had a reaction to the shingles vaccine and reported it immediately. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI got my flu shot yesterday and my arm is sore to the touch, and the skin is hot, too. But it's not swollen. Sorry to hear about your reaction. Fortunately it should be better soon. I sure hope so, anyway. :-(
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better! And that the clinic has some advice about those swollen areas! Including you in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteYour description is why I don't take the flu shot, pneumonia yes, but not flu.
ReplyDeleteSure have heard of a lot of people getting reactions to the shot this year. I think I'll continue to pass. Hope you feel better soon!! :(
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're feeling miserable. I'm getting the flu shot in a couple of weeks. I haven't had any adverse reactions, but since I'm of the age when they administer the stronger dosage, who knows what I might experience.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you are having to endure that. Will Benadryl or something similar help the swelling? Do you have medicine you take for the Lyme's for flare-ups? I know (think) it is initially treated with antibiotics? From what I know about you through the blog, you are a Type A personality - - - a good thing! That means it is difficult to sit around - - when it is comfortable to do so - - - because you love doing so many things in life. I, too, hate it when I don't feel well. Life is getting shorter everyday and I don't want to waste a minute of it with my body not being 100%.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you, hope the swelling subsides soon. I'm another one on the 'no flu shot' bandwagon. Hope you have a good book or two to read!
ReplyDeleteMy internet has been acting up also! I sure hope you get to feeling better. I hate it when I have a to do list and I can't get anything done.

Not nice to have reactions to flu shots. But as you say you'll get over it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry your are going through this. My internetisn't acting up but my phone is. The time and date are correctly set in my ohone, but my texts have been arriving and leaving with Sunday, September 11 on them and Friday September 9 on them... all today. And the times were wonky, all of them with the time after 7:00 p.m. all day.
ReplyDeleteStop your witching! So cute you did make it?
ReplyDeleteNow this could be taken two ways looking and reading your post!!!!!
lol
No I bought her at a garage sale for 25 cents:) She makes me smile:)
DeleteSo sorry you're suffering those awful after effects. Hope you feel better very soon.
ReplyDeleteHow unfortunate to have such strong reactions to those shots. I had both in September, with just minor soreness at the injection site. I friend of mine had a strong reaction to her flu shot last year and was advised that she should no longer get that shot. You should check too.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, I am sorry about the bad reactions. My husband has decided that he will not take a flu shot anymore...something horrible about them he has researched, but I don't want to hear it..I take one every year and will continue. I'd take the pneumonia shot if they'd let me, but I have to wait a few more years I guess. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI take both flu and pneumonia and have never had a reaction other than my arm might be a bit sore the next day. Did you call them and tell them? I hope you'll be alright....I've never known anyone to have such a time of it...so sorry to hear that. I hope you get over it soon. I get pneumonia shot too but I had it last year or the year before and they last for quite a few years I think.
ReplyDeleteVery sorry you are feeling awful! You can't get the flu from the flu shot; it's a dead virus. It might be a reaction to it's components. Next time, always massage the spot, gently, for the first 24 hours. It's helps dispense the medication quicker and lessen the chance of a sore arm. But it sounds like you got yours in the rear; the flu shot is not meant to be injected in the rear. :(
ReplyDeleteI would think you are allergic to the material that they are suspending the viruses into as I though this happened last year too. I can still point the spot on my arm where they wrongly stuck me for my flu shot and it flares up every once in a while.
