87

My Mother is 87 years old today.

This is the only photo of her in Grade School.  She grew up speaking German only, and when she went to First Grade the teacher knew no German.  Other children had to act as translators.

I was looking at this photo and wondering who resembles her the most.  I finally decided that her Grandson Kirk looks like her especially through the nose and eyes.  Also  her niece Vickie.  Perhaps she just looks like herself.

Mom is a very accomplished quilter and she enjoys sewing very much, and can spend hours at her sewing machines.  She is also a very good cook.  She enjoys going out to lunch, shopping and the soap opera The Young and The Restless.  She belongs to a number of service organizations and always has some meeting to go to.

    Yes, Happy Birthday! She is lovely. I come from German stock as well...Grandpa was From Germany and a farmer in South Dakota.
