A gift and a project

It is raining and has been for several days.  The sun is not shining here.  It just rains and rains.

Far Guy and Chance braved the rain to get the mail.

A gift from Jen

There was a note and a gift from Jen.

A journal or place to make a list!

She is making journals! They are so cute! I think I will use mine to make my lists.

Now for my project.  I talked to Granddaughter Paige, she is going to the winter formal.  Yes she would like a bracelet, her gown is mainly white with a little very pale pink.  Sparkly and white was her suggestion.

I told her I would give it a whirl.  I added a row of pink beads.

Paige bracelet

If she doesn’t like it I can always rip it apart.  I use very tiny beads called Japanese Delicas.  I use an even count peyote stitch to weave the beads together one by one with a needle and special beading thread.

So I have a pretty place to make my lists now and a project…life is good…other than the rain that will probably be snow soon.

  3. It's a beautiful bracelet! We have had so much rain lately that I'm looking forward to a little respite for a day or two. Maybe I can get out in my garden and pull weeds. :-)

  11. The bracelet is so pretty and I'm sure your granddaughter will love wearing it. They look like really tiny beads. It's dark and gloomy here, too, and I really wish the humidity would go away.

  12. What fun to get a gift in the mail. The bracelet is lovely. It rained here yesterday. Today we have wind but also have sunshine and a blue sky full of fluffy clouds. We have cold weather coming next week. We have had a November that has looked more like October so far. Nobody is complaining.

  13. I remember continue rains in June while in Minnesota. I guess snow could be the alternative at this point but you sure can't have a low water table.

  14. How sweet of Jen! The bracelet looks great:)
We are having our November monsoons, but yesterday was dry and today is one of those gift days, sunny and mild! Wonderful. Too bad I have to be inside to do some jam, at least a few batches, but I was out for a while doing a bit of gardening type stuff.

  15. Your family is extremely creative! Yes - - I LOVE making lists, too - - meant to comment on the blog where you wrote about that. I probably told you I keep one in Excel that tells what I did each day - - - LOL - -- - makes me feel accomplished. I also keep things I "need to do" on a legal pad - - real paper and highlight them when they are completed - - - often use 2-5 different colors in a sequence of course - - - so it is a "pretty pat on the back" to me!!!

  16. Love the bracelet! Speaking of weather - we've had tornadoes, blizzard, thunderstorms and this morning, an earthquake felt in Kansas from its epicenter in OK. . . . all in a week.

  24. Gorgeous bracelet! That must take the patience of a saint....yet....I have not heard anything about you being a saint so I'm scratching my head! LOL! She will love it!
Isn't that a sweet daughter and right before Christmas? You must really "rate" to get a present this close to Christmas! I love her journal. Those would be nice gifts but I don't know the first thing about scrap booking. I'll have to "google" it. Enjoy your new lists and your new project.
