How did the duck get to the other side of the road?

Well they found a crosswalk and a couple of very duck friendly people from Burger King to act as crossing guards. I stopped for them and grabbed my camera on the front seat. I took these photos through the windshield with my small camera.

Ducks Crossing

There was another duck friendly fellow off to the right that stayed at the edge of the road.

12 ducklings

It looks like there were twelve ducklings.

All in all it was a nice moment in a rather hectic day.

Traffic in town is getting bad.  I think all the snow birds have returned. We have entered the season of left turns only at the stoplights…any other left turn in town and you will wait forever or get yourself in an accident.

  1. There is a set of 6 ponds near me that are on both sides of a four lane and traffic often comes to a halt. Lots of new babies.

  2. I think the season has brought out the cars and people! That was very nice of you and the pedestrian to halt traffic for the duck citizen.

  6. Such cute ducks. There is a restaurant near us that has a creek across the way. The ducks are thick there on the creek, as people stop to feed them. The name of the restaurant is "Dodgin' Duck"

  11. We've had quite a few similar stories on the news just lately, about exactly the same thing. Some even fell down a drain and were rescued from there. Brings a smile to your face:)

  16. I always enjoy seeing ducks in a row. They teeter and bobble as they walk in a scattered line. We only see small canada's down here.

  21. It gladdens the heart to see the traffic stop to let the duck family cross. And to see someone step forward to be their protector.

Nice that we humans do usually come to the aide of mama ducks with babies.
