Well they found a crosswalk and a couple of very duck friendly people from Burger King to act as crossing guards. I stopped for them and grabbed my camera on the front seat. I took these photos through the windshield with my small camera.
There was another duck friendly fellow off to the right that stayed at the edge of the road.
It looks like there were twelve ducklings.
All in all it was a nice moment in a rather hectic day.
Traffic in town is getting bad. I think all the snow birds have returned. We have entered the season of left turns only at the stoplights…any other left turn in town and you will wait forever or get yourself in an accident.
There is a set of 6 ponds near me that are on both sides of a four lane and traffic often comes to a halt. Lots of new babies.
ReplyDeleteI think the season has brought out the cars and people! That was very nice of you and the pedestrian to halt traffic for the duck citizen.
ReplyDeleteAw, it looks like a scene from "Make Way for Ducklings."
ReplyDeleteThey should put up duck crossing signs . So cute mama and all her ducklings ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteI love to see it when locals act as duck crossing guards.
ReplyDeleteSuch cute ducks. There is a restaurant near us that has a creek across the way. The ducks are thick there on the creek, as people stop to feed them. The name of the restaurant is "Dodgin' Duck"
ReplyDeleteHow absolutely sweet! God speed to those darlings. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the ducks! Tis the season. I saw goslings yesterday. I even remember Make Way for Ducklings, that another person commented about.
ReplyDeleteLucky Ducklings!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me happy to see that people and communities care for small creatures.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet picture. How wonderful to start my day with a smile.
ReplyDeleteWe've had quite a few similar stories on the news just lately, about exactly the same thing. Some even fell down a drain and were rescued from there. Brings a smile to your face:)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the smiles.
ReplyDeleteOh! That is so sweet!

Sweet. It's usually wood ducks nesting far from water....:)
ReplyDeleteVery cute photos! Glad the momma and babies made it across safely.
ReplyDeleteHi Connie, I love that, the little duck family needed help crossing the road.Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteAww that is just so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing ducks in a row. They teeter and bobble as they walk in a scattered line. We only see small canada's down here.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet, and I hope all those folks in cars were being patient. People nowadays have become so rude!
ReplyDeleteWell that is just ducky!
ReplyDeleteMore and more ducks are nesting in urban areas. Were these guys moving towards water?
ReplyDeleteyes there is water on both sides of the road..a river runs through town:)
DeleteHow sweet. I'm glad they got across safe.
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteIt gladdens the heart to see the traffic stop to let the duck family cross. And to see someone step forward to be their protector.
ReplyDeleteI think some of the snowbirds returned early, too. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice that we humans do usually come to the aide of mama ducks with babies.
It must be a big city if you have a Burger King! All we have is a small grocery and a Dollar General. LOve the ducks!
