The grand girls are Hockey players.
First we attended Paige’s game..they won. Paige says that the Justin Bieber sticker on the back of her helmet brings her good luck. As soon as her game was over we headed to another arena. It was a busy weekend in Bemidji.
Maddie is on the left..Hockey photos are always a challenge because of the plexiglass.
Where oh where is Savannah??
She was in the penalty box..later she said “Grandma I didn’t do anything..it must have been someone else and I got blamed.”
Ya sure..she is one aggressive hockey player..she skates her heart out and takes ownership of the puck.
Savannah is on the left. Savannah and Maddie both play on the Junior Varsity team.
Girls Hockey is fun to watch. Watching these girls skate over the past five years has been a blast:)
What fun! Growing up in the South, I don't know much about hockey, but John played a lot as a child in MI.
ReplyDeleteOh, the things I've missed...never even have ice skated!
ReplyDeleteI remember those days ! I to played hockey when I was younger ! Played Centre for the Inglewood Wolveriens here in Ontario. I dont miss the early mornings thats for sure ! Good for them they look great out on the ice ! Awesome photos. Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in Michigan, I grew to know and love hockey. I was a fan of the Detroit Red Wings way back then and still remember the donnybrooks on the ice. Bet girls don't do that as much... :-)
ReplyDeleteWatching your granddaughters play must be quite a thrill and nice to see girls participating in what was formerly a guy sport.
ReplyDeleteSo super cool that those girls play hockey and that you get to go watch too! Sending cyber support for all of their teams! GO GIRLS!
ReplyDeleteSome think it strange, but here in Phoenix hockey is played. We have a professional team--Phoenix Coyotes, and there are several indoor rinks. I never learned to skate, but do enjoy watching.
ReplyDeleteGo GIRLS!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love hockey!
I know nothing about hockey but I know you are so proud of those girls. Hope you have a good day Connie.
ReplyDeleteSeeing girls or boys playing hockey is a foreign sight down here. We do have two pro hockey teams and most of the players are from Minnesota. It is neat that the girls get to play it even when they get thrown in the penalty box because the ref can't keep track of the offender.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo, you go girls. 'Just goes to show ya that girls can do anything!
ReplyDeleteYou must be sooooo proud!
Great pictures!
God bless and enjoy your day sweetie!!! :o)
I've never seen girls hockey -- I would love to attend one game
ReplyDeleteWay to go girls!!!
ReplyDeleteWe really don't have hockey around here in Oregon....I think there is a league but it isn't as popular here as in Minnesota.
Go grands! You rock!
ReplyDeleteLove those photos! What a thrill to watch your granddaughters play. I used to skate as a kid but never played hockey but I love to watch it now that there are televised games. I just can't knit or crochet like I can when I watch football...too much action in hockey! You might miss something! LOL! You go girls!!!!
ReplyDeleteI used to love to watch hockey games when we lived in Grand Forks-oh gosh that was ages ago...You have much to be proud of with your grandkids, and I hope the grandson is feeling better- Good luck to the girls!
ReplyDeleteYou can tell you love them and love participating in their activities. What a blessing to live close enough to do that.
ReplyDeleteYour photots turned out great. It is always fun watching your kids and grandkids whatever they're doing. I haven't been to very many hockey games, hockey here started after Jess had already committed to VB and BB. That's alright. The gym isn't as cold!
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening.
I for one prefer girls hockey. There's much more action rather than the crash and bash stuff.
ReplyDeleteMinnesota and hockey just seem to go together, don't they? Grandma and Grandpa need to be there to watch, too. Like a rite of passage. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great game for the girls. I love to watch, but I am always slow keeping track of the puck. We have a college team here in town that we follow. I tried to get my grandsons involved when they were younger, but they just couldn't manage the fast pace of the sport.
