The Five

We have five grands and it doesn’t look like we will get anymore grandchildren.

They are growing like weeds.

The five May 2011 (2)

I took the above photo in May of 2011.

Thanksgiving Day I took another photo.  Someone who just might be the oldest has stopped growing for the moment…maybe forever.  Her sisters passed her up.  She was not happy to have slipped two spaces.

The Five November 24 2011

She asked me several times “Grandma are you sure? Are you positive that they are both taller than me?”

The Grands

Sorry “Shorty” ..Your sisters really have to slouch while standing next to you for you to be taller than them.

Just as there are no two stars in the night sky or snowflakes in the air that are exactly the same.  These five are very different from each other, they continue to amaze and entertain Far Guy and I:)

  2. Great photo of the grandchildren, Connie! My brother and sister are much taller than me.

Tell your granddaughter that Harriet is proof that "shorter is beautiful."

  5. My daughter 'The Social Butterfly' would always comment, "I'm not short...I'm just vertically challanged!" Soon your handsome fella will kick into gear and tower over the girl.

God bless and have a great week sweetie!!!

  6. Your pictures are fun - it's great to see such evidence of their growing up. But... I bet you think it is all happening way too fast!
My boys lived for the day when they would surpass my height and that of their grandmothers.

  7. What cutie pies!

I know how 'shorty' feels. I have one brother (older) and two younger sisters - and they are all taller than me. Oh, the humiliation of having my baby sis pass her clothes down to me!!

  10. Our Grands did not attend the family Thanksgiving this year...therefore, we only had one person under 21...we're getting to be an older crowd...told the cousins they need to start on their Grandkids...

  11. Isn't it amazing how quickly they grow?

Last Christmas, my nephew was just slightly shorter than me (by about 1/2") by July he was 6'. Talk about growth spurts!

  13. What great pics! My brother and sister are both taller than me and I was the oldest. I have to crane my next to look up at my son, but being short isn't so bad. As a short girl, tell her she can date almost any guy on the planet--ROFL!! ;P

  14. They are just a great crew! I, like so many commenters, am the shortest of 4 siblings although I'm 2nd in age. And not just shorter, MUCH shorter--I'm 5'5" and my little sister is 5'10" and my brothers are both a little over 6 feet. Oh well! Height isn't everything, but I do wear heels to even compete in this man's world I live in. Ha ha.

  17. They are really cute and look like they enjoy being together! One of my coworkers has their family take the 'same' picture every year - - - with each of them in the same order. She said it is fun to watch the progression after about 30 years.

  18. Oh my gosh - the girls have grown... I remember like yesterday when they came over and rode Jack in the roundpen... What fun that they are all pretty close in age!

  21. They look like a lot of fun. It is neat they are all so individual. My two sons sure grew up and went it such different ways, both similar when younger and yet so different now. It is nice you are photo recording the growth.
