It is me, the handsome Border Collie.
“Damn Ticks..Damn Ticks.” That could have been the title of this blog post..but it isn’t.
Good friends that are dogs only come along a few times in your life.
Hooch died on Tuesday night from complications due to Anaplasmosis. Anaplasmosis is a disease that the ticks carry. He got really sick, really fast. We were just playing ball on Sunday afternoon. We are all sad.
Here are the links to a few of our adventures.

RIP my friend Hooch:)
AWW so sorry for the loss of Hooch.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, nothing worse than loosing a best friend that is for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. It is never easy to lose a dear pet.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so sad. I know Jo and Odda are devastated too. I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteHooch was a beautiful animal - I'm sad to hear he has passed on, Chance. You have to remember though, Hooch will be in heaven having pissing contest with the other dogs there waiting (very patiently, so don't you rush!) for you to rejoin him. I think he told me last night in a dog whisper dream that heaven always has just a little more white snow and a few trees "to do".
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss, Chance. I had no idea that this was such a fast moving disease in dogs. How sad.
ReplyDeleteChance, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry!
ReplyDeleteOh Chance, I'm so sorry about the loss of your good friend...
ReplyDeleteBuggers. Absolute crappy nonsensical buggers. Damn ticks, what is their point.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear this....Didn't know ticks carried desease....don't have them much here.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about Hooch--we was really a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to leave a comment to tell you I just LOVE your photos--especially the bird pics you've got in your banner right now. You are certainly a talented photographer! :)
I'm so sorry for your loss. What a shame.
ReplyDeleteI am so sad for you. Losing a fuzzy friend, especially so unexpectedly, is awful.
ReplyDeleteI lost a dog to babeseosis many years ago - another tick-bourne disease. Hate those 'suckers'!!
Thank you Chance! Our best friend isn't hurting any more and is now playing fetch with balls and frisbees in heaven with grandpa and grandma is making him eggs again for breakfast! We sure miss him, and Jo will forget occassionally and call me by his name like she does the girls, but that's ok. I'll try to be a good friend too and might learn to fetch better; we'll still have fun running and playing ~ Odda
ReplyDeleteWent and looked at the old posts - they're great, and you write like no other Connie. It's wonderful what good friends you and G are. We appreciate all you do and your love for our dogs too ~ thank you so much, jo
ReplyDeleteOh that is so very sad. Poor little froggy legged Hooch, and every one that loved him.
ReplyDeleteeffing ticks:(
Oh NO! I'm so very very sorry to hear this.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about poor Hooch. I have read about so many pets passing away this spring from other bloggers. It must have been a hard winter for them.
ReplyDeleteHope all is going well otherwise.
Awww Chance I'm sorry about your friend. Make sure your Mommy checks your belly real good for the tick monsters.
ReplyDeleteThats hard to say goodbye to a sweet 'family member'. Darn ticks. Ticks are bad this year in my area. Keep a check on them - sure don't want anything to happen to Chance.
ReplyDeleteDang ticks!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that. :(
Stinkin' ticks anyway! I'm so sorry about Hooch, I know how precious our pets are to us. They are like family. My heart goes out to you sweetie.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you day.
I am so sorry about losing your friend. I have never heard of that disease before but will check it out in case we take Button with us to the North
ReplyDeleteShore. I guess tick repellent doesn't work well if they bite the dog anyway before they fall off.
Sorry, so very sorry.
ReplyDeleteoh no, that really sucks. he was the best dog ever!!! sorry to hear this sad news.
ReplyDeleteOh no that is terrible... So sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteThat did happen way too fast. I was wondering what was going on since we had not seen a post from them lately. Do you think it's easier for a bigger dog to fight off that disease? Hooch looks like he was a fun & playful pup with a wonderful personality.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your friend Hooch, Chance.
ReplyDeleteI know you enjoyed playing ball with him and will miss him.
So sorry for your loss of Hooch.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about Hooch. The ticks have been super bad in the past week. I've found 7 in 7 days.
ReplyDeleteOh! Man! That sucks! Dang it! I'm so sorry Chance!
