I have two “pee your pants funny” things to share. I have a odd, warped sense of humor sometimes. Once in a great while something will really tickle my funny bone, I start to laugh..and once I start I have a hard time stopping. It is like a strange song, with high notes and long silences..only to start all over again reaching crescendo after crescendo. I laugh till I cry or pee my pants or both. Sometimes I laugh until my belly is sore and I am gasping for breath. Far Guy will often say “Sweetheart..are you gonna be ok?” Killed by laughter, now that is an interesting thought.
Have you seen the commercial where “Gary” and two M & M’s are being held hostage? If the demands are not met..he is going to “eat” one of the hostages..and one M &M says to the other “He’s going to eat Gary” ..The first time I saw that commercial I nearly died laughing..Far Guy couldn’t figure out what I thought was so funny.
It took a really long time for the numbness to go out of Far Guys arm and hand after the surgery. He could not control his arm..it was like a dead piece of wood. He kept banging it on things..a door in the hospital, he clunked it good there, he couldn’t feel a thing so of course it didn’t hurt. His bandage is also a splint..and yes it looks like a club and it will remain that way for six weeks as far as I know. One tiny finger repair needs a huge bandage…hard to understand..all that for a finger? Tendons heal slow and the next six weeks will be crucial in the repair.
After we got home..he tried laying down on the couch to see if he could use the back of the couch to elevate his arm. He propped up his arm..and just like that it came back and hit him in the nose. He lacerated his nose..I told him “Way to go! Now your nose needs stitches.” Then I began to laugh..and had to run to the bathroom..all the while he is moaning and groaning on the couch..mumbling that his club attacked him just like that out of nowhere..it was trying to kill him all the while his wife abandoned him. I had to stay in the bathroom a really long time..laughing. It was a long day..my laughter was bordering on tears..his nose is fine..I cleaned it up, it was just bleeding like a serious wound when in fact it was just a small cut that will heal up just fine ..and his eyes are not turning black and blue. Thank goodness..but I bet the next time a Nurse asks him if he feels safe in his home she will hear the whole story of the attack of the dead arm.
Now for the snow stick report:
Nezzy’s guess was March 18, I took this late in the afternoon of the 17th..It isn’t looking like it will all melt away in the next 24 hours. Sorry Nezzy:)
Sometimes I get laughing like that, too. It's been a long time. You told the story very well, but poor Far Guy! It seems like he's going to be laid up with that arm for a long time. Hope they can get to be friends... :-)
ReplyDeleteAttack of the dead arm...wonderful...glad at least he's not getting black eyes...
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed the M&M's commercial...though I'm trying very hard not to see it in a sexual context...
Attack by your own arm was sooo funny, hard to imagine but really funny.
ReplyDeleteYou just wrote the title of the next Hollyweird block buster horror movie!!!!! Good luck getting the credit!
ReplyDeleteI knew that club was a pain!
ReplyDeleteJust now, eavesdropping on a phone conversation, I am learning that my girls had a weasel climb up the grape vines into their room. They wanted to keep it as a pet and were trying to catch it but the cat caught it instead. Anna is on the speaker phone and they are reminscing all about it. Anna says she hasn't told Justin that story yet, each girl makes a few more comments and then Anna says, "it was hard to catch because they are so lively and", she adds, "they are so vicious, why did we think we wanted it for a pet?!" Peels of laughter are coming from my stairwell.
Just thought I share that for Funny Story Day.
Those M&M commercials are so funny. I know the one you are talking about. I love the Geico commercial - 'does a woodchuck really chuck wood' - 'stop chucking my wood you woodchuck'. There a lot of cute ones out right now. Did he hurt you in his sleep last night with that hand. That is so funny. I would have laughted too. Have a great spring weekend.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I wake with one arm above my head and my arm feels like a lifeless club! Hope you two will have a good weekend. Give Chance a hug from us.
ReplyDeleteThere is a great picture of Far Guy on Facebook. He looks like he is in pain though.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be a long 6 weeks.
Both are very funny!
ReplyDeleteHeeehehe, (Sorry Far Guy) but I can just see ya whackin' yourself win the face with your club! I'm so glad ya didn't need stitches for that too. Can't ya just imagine 'that' conversation in the ER!!!
ReplyDeleteThe commercial you spoke of sent me rollin' too. Hubs asked me what was so funny. Really!!! :o)
God bless ya and have a wonderful weekend sweetie!!!
At least laughter is good for the spirit. ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! ♥
I am like that to never get me started lol yes I have seen that commercial and I wailed as well. Spring in two days! We have no snow, lots of sun and warm weather finally so warm I was able to open the windows and air the house out. Have a great weekend. PS Laughter is one of the best medicines !
ReplyDeleteOh funny! I just read it now after you left here. Otherwise I'd have mentioned it to you! Very funny-pee your pants!!!!
ReplyDeleteOmigosh, I laughed out loud. Sorry, Far Guy.
ReplyDeleteWhat happens to me is that I laugh so hard only a rush of air comes out followed by a weak squeak and another rush of air. It isn't pretty. haaa
ReplyDeleteOK this is to funny.I'm going to have to wear depends when I read your blogs & Farguys emails!!
ReplyDeleteThe things that go on back there in MN!! I wonder how Chance feels about all of this.
I told Farguy he was just trying to get out of all the spring chores.
Thanks for the laugh this morning. Hope your thumb is not giving you any trouble.
Poor baby...and you laugh??? I did, too!
ReplyDeleteyes... I know those almost hysterical giggler moments. I've actually had my husband leave the bed and go sleep somewhere else because my silent giggles keep shaking the bed. I can't stop. Tears run. I quiet down, and then my body has to start shaking and giggling again.
ReplyDeleteA dear friend (Nancy) and I have several of those moments that we've shared together. There are key words that describe them and sometimes one of those words just pops up in a conversation and Nanc & I start wetting our pants. Everyone else just looks at us like we are crazy.
Maybe we are?
Yes, it took me seeing it the second time to hear that they were going to eat Gary. My hearing is bad so I have to really concentrate or lots of things just go by. I hope the nose is better. Get well soon Far Guy, before spring.
ReplyDeleteI love that commercial about eating Gary!!! Ask Far Guy if he has baby mice running up and down his arm. When I had my thumb joint replaced, the muscles and tendons healing made little movements (I could even see them after the big club was taken off) and the baby mice-ies running up and down my arm would wake me up! Hope he heals well and doesn't club himself or you - at least to do any big damage!
ReplyDeleteI have seen the Gary commercial, too and it is funny! I love when I get in a 'hysterical' mood and laugh like that. It does make a person feel good - - - - even at the expense of your sweet husband. We will pray he heals completely and doesn't make you crazy during his recovery.
