A Thousand Words: Sisters

Today I am launching a new series, It will be called A Thousand Words. It will only have one photo and may or may not be accompanied by words..but certainly way less than a thousand. It does not have a day like Wistful Wednesday and may show up at anytime. Whatever the case..I hope you enjoy it!

Big sisters are the crab grass in the lawn of life. ~Charles M. Schulz

A few weeks ago at the control burn, I happened to witness this scene unfolding before my very eyes. A high pitched squeal alerted me to a problem, luckily I had my camera ready to go and grabbed this quick shot of an altercation between two sisters who just happen to be my great nieces. Their Grandmother intervened..or perhaps I would have captured a knock down drag out fight! :)

  1. Thousand words? Hell, girl, a thousand bullets is better. Get your ass over to our porch where the alcohol and ammunition is free and the neighbors are ffreakin' well behaved....

  4. I love the Charles Schulz quote. I never had a sister. I only had myself to fight with.
    But I love this post.

  7. That is a great picture, it made me laugh. The little one is really getting yanked! I grew up the youngest with 3 sisters and 3 brothers. I got yanked a few times myself.

  10. I wonder if the older one thought that no one was looking? I was the oldest sister. I'm sure I thought I knew what was best for the others.

  15. I was once at a parade where a troop of Cub Scouts followed a group of horses. The two front scouts were carrying a banner strung on a pole between them and, just as the came upon the first steaming pile of horse droppings, the scout on the left yanked on the pole. His partner performed some fancy footwork, and narrowly avoided stepping in the dung, then returned the favor, with the same result. For the next two minutes, until the Scoutmaster intervened, they attempted to drag each other into the manure.

I'd give fifty bucks to have that on video....
