Large Cross Stitch

Jen used yarn and a peg board to make a giant cross stitch piece of art!

I helped with a few stitches... not many.

Yesterday we crossed a bunch of Fall "stuff" off our list.  Leaf mulching is still happening...my baby brother came by with his huge mower/mulcher and that really helped out.  We blew the leaves out of the rocks on both sides of the house.  Of course more will collect there!  Hoses were disconnected and brought into the garage, the tomato plant was history so we clipped it down stem by stem and then pulled it out of the soil.  The deer will finish it off back in the woods.

What's Cooking?  Walleye, baked potato and corn.

Minnesota Weather:  Really nice for October!  High was 67F or 19C    Low was 43F or 6C

  2. I took one hose off. It won’t be long til i have to remove my other one. I put the fan i have on the back porch in my garage. You are lucky to have a brother to help out.

Jen’s project looks tedious. It is very pretty.

  3. I cleaned out my tomatoes a couple days ago and put my garden to bed. I still have a crop of fall peas yet to pick perhaps if the frost holds off for another week or so.

  4. Jen is very talented. This is a beautiful piece she has done. It's good to get those things done early...we never know when the first rounds of bad weather are coming.. I've been trying to get all my pot plants put into the greenhouse..

  5. Wow, that is the largest cross stitch I have ever seen. Fall is such a busy time outdoors. It won't be long and you will be moving into the new house suite.

I love Walleye! I make several different types of baked fish, but not Walleye. They say it's best fried. Do you pan fry, or how do you make yours?

  6. I've seen people do this before it's so cool! I got some smaller balsa wood cross stitch boards a Michaels a while back - I haven't tried them out yet.

  14. And walleye - yum! One of our local restaurants has grilled walleye on the menu and I order it fairly often when we go there.
