Cold

 It is cold here.

We have enough snow, we have enough cold.

Far Guy and I had a quiet day, he ventured out to the mail box and that was his outside activity for the day. I opened the door and took a photo for your enjoyment.

Far Guy is organizing his medications, woodcarving and making ice for the ice bin...there are three of us that like the softer smaller ice cubes that the on the counter ice machine makes!

I did some laundry and completed my photo album project 2026 for now...yeah me!!  I must go through some archived photos and order reprints...I will put that on my list to BE tackled at a later date....before Winter ends for sure.

We made a pan of lasagna for supper.

Minnesota weather: High -13F or -25C  Low was -26F or -32C eh!

Here is the weather warning.

The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 55 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes.

  2. I do hope this cold weather moves on soon. It's bitterly cold at home too, and I know how hard it can be on people, vehicles, and furnaces. Stay warm!

  4. Those temperatures are almost incomprehensible. Besides the frostbite, I would think a person could not even breathe those temps and be okay. Are those temps detrimental to a car that is parked outside - - either overnight or just for 2-3 hours? One of my supervisors at AFLAC way back in the late seventies was stationed with her husband in Alaska years before that. She said they had some kind of heater they put under the hoods of cars at night.

  6. Wind chill of -55 sounds AWFUL. We have possibly 8-12 inches of snow on the way which is very unusual for us. I think it was in 1978 we had a blizzard about the same time as this snow is supposed to arrive here. Meteorologists are not predicting high winds this time.

Do you have block heaters in the vehicles?

  8. You are being wise in staying inside. We're doing the same, only taking Zoey out as necessary. and we're ONLY -21 wind chill! It sounds like you're both keeping busy and yay for you in completing your project.
    Stay warm.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  10. LD....Every Tuesday we sit down and fill our pill boxes. I have a four rows for day and Della has a three row one. I keep being amazed that I can keep track of all of it with they way that I have pills scheduled. I have rubber bands on things to keep my groups together to remind me which sets of pills go where. When I can't remember I guess I will be ready for the home.

  14. It got down to 30 here last night. I know, I'm being annoying. but we do appreciate our moderate climate and feel fortunate, at least until we have a serious wind storm and very big trees come down on houses and cars. Or floods.
Sounds like you are taking good care of each other. That's good.

  15. Thanks for stepping out to take the picture. It is very pretty with the greenery and berries juxtaposed against the snow. Stay warm, friends!

  17. Praying that you will stay safe and warm during this very cold weather. A lot of the country is facing ice and big snows, and here we have the very cold temps. Your lasagna sounds good. Take good care and hopefully winter can be on it's way soon.

  19. What do you heat with? We just had our propane furnace quit on us. Found out that between -35 and -40C (well we almost meet there don't we?) that the regulator on the gas tanks freeze up!
