I finished a hat and matching booties for Baby K.
The hat ...it fits...it covers up her ears and that was the main intent. Babies that get cold air in their ears get earaches and ear infections...just an observation over the years. Hope Baby K has an undershirt on...I do check that from time to time and give her Mama the what for on undershirts:) ( Babies need the layers to stay warm and cozy)
All the "stuff" for Christmas cards arrived so that will keep me busy for a few days.
Far Guy and I went out for a late lunch after his weekly infusion...so supper is left overs if you are hungry. I love a no cooking day!
Minnesota weather; Downright chilly. High was 24F or -4C Low was 18F or -8C and it was WINDY!

Awww!
ReplyDeleteI need earflaps too! The wind going by my ears makes them ache something awful!
ReplyDeleteThe hat and booties turned out absolutely adorable and you’re right, keeping those little ears covered is serious business! 😊 Baby K is lucky to have someone watching the undershirt situation so closely too. It is important for me too. Stay warm in that Minnesota chill — those temperatures (and the wind!) are no joke. ❄️💨
ReplyDeleteAre you still with Jen??
ReplyDeleteYes
DeleteBaby K is the cutest little thing!
ReplyDeletesoo darn cute....daughter crochets scarves and baby hats for hospital nicu...she has a scarf ministry, sharing them with nearly everyone!
ReplyDeleteThe baby hat will warm those little ears.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a no cooking day.
What a cute hat!
ReplyDeleteThose temps are downright cold. It's cool around here but nothing like your cold. I agree Connie...babies need to have on layers. I find myself being amazed at many new moms these days who dress their babies so freely.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about undershirts that these new mothers don't get? I had the same problem convincing my kids to put them on in the cold weather to keep them warm.
ReplyDeleteEven in grade school I put one on them! I never see them in the stores anymore except for onsies
Stay warm!
Well done!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute baby and the hat is perfect! RHill, TX
ReplyDeleteGreat little hat!
ReplyDeleteI love that hat - - the color and texture. It looks very warm. I am with you regarding the undershirts and layers. It also seems that the newer fabrics used to make baby clothes are thinner. This past year or two, I need to layer more than I used to. Guess it goes with age - - for the very young or approaching very old. Hooray for no cooking night. It feels like a holiday!
ReplyDeleteCute little one! You were warmer than us yesterday by 10 degrees.
ReplyDeleteThat hat is nearly as cute as the baby! Layers are good for anyone in winter! Especially real wool.
ReplyDeleteLove the hat & the cutie pie! Yes- keep pushing undershirts!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness AMEN to the hat and the undershirts, the little onesies are so cute these days too! I can't imagine putting a sleeper on a baby without one, the zipper or snaps right next to their skin? nope. Good for you for keeping an eye on these things, the hat is adorable too! (also the baby:))
ReplyDeleteGood Job Grandma! We all need layers to stay warm, especially those who can't dress themselves.
ReplyDeletePerfect fit! Yes, need to stay warm. Been really cold out there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! The hat is sweet.
ReplyDeleteBaby K is adorable and so is the little hat. You brought back memories! Mama always made sure my babies had their undershirts on. Melba, please keep a little undershirt on under her clothes. It will help keep her warm. Not having to cook supper is such a treat. I'm going to pick up 2 fish plates tonight. Yay. Trouble is, I'm also the one who has to go get them.
ReplyDeleteSweet little hat. She's such a pretty baby! You're right about the undershirts - for babies and for old folks. I've started wearing layers more than I ever used to.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie pie, and that hat is HER color! You have to keep their ears warm!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my word! She is a living doll and the. hat is perfect. I feel the same about undershirts but a lot of the younger generations don't think they're necessary. We went out to lunch today too. It was the first day Dennis didn't work all day this week. He hung drywall yesterday for our associate minister. We ate and then ran errands. Somehow I lost my travel toothbrush holder so had to get a new one and some gifts for Baby J.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Babies do need cozy hats in your Minnesota winter!
