Sadie is a character. She keeps us all entertained. She attacks the cat Phoebe and Little Elvis with wild abandon. She does a death roll with Little Elvis hair...he gets after her but she doesn't give up. Sometimes her name is Sadie Monster and most of the time Sadie NO. She is persistent but will give up after about five No commands. Sometimes she gives up by sitting and barking sharply as if to say "Well ok but I am not happy with you!"
Her potty training is going well, she goes to the patio door to be let out...most of the time. At twelve weeks old her potty training is going as good as I expected. She walks well on a leash and knows the command sit. We are working on "off" and she doesn't like "down" at all. She comes most of the time when called.
Don't let those sweet sad eyes fool you.
Sadie is as big as the cat now.I am positive that Phoebe was raised someplace that had puppies because she puts up with more puppy foolishness than any cat I have ever known. AND sometimes she asks for it...she runs away from Sadie and then plops down a few feet away...and the game is on again.
Little Elvis
Far Side
What a character! Sadie sure is cute and those eyes will melt anyone. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! You are so lucky to have such an entertaining family member. :-)
ReplyDeleteI always tell people with puppies... "Don't tolerate from a puppy what you don't want to tolerate from an adult dog". When they're puppies, bad behavior has a tendency to be considered "cute" but that same behavior done by an adult dog will NOT be cute in the least. Train accordingly. :-) Sadie sure is a cutie-patootie. ~Andrea xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain :-(. Puppies...
ReplyDeleteSounds like Sadie is doing an excellent job with learning her commands. Too funny about Phoebe playing with her like that.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos! Little Elvis seems to be saying Rescue me from the monster!
ReplyDeleteI don't know which face is sweeter - Little Elvis or Sadie. He is so handsome and reminds me of the "Lassie" collie we had name Harry about 40 years ago.
ReplyDeleteOh that pick of Pheobe and Sadie is hilarious. When Jem had the pups this summer, Mom's cats stayed clear out of reach! Usually Winnie bosses Jem and Chevy around, but nine puppies was just too much for her!
ReplyDeleteSadie’s eyes are alert, and she appears to be listening to your commands. She is adorable asis Little Elvis.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Sadie is a cutie, Little Elvis is beyond handsome and Phoebe is a very patient cat. If she didn't enjoy the tussles, I'm sure she'd let Sadie know right quick!
ReplyDeleteI sure do look forward to Sadie the Monster updates. They are so great and make me smile!
ReplyDeleteCharlie is learning that not all dogs bigger than he is, are nasty! So fun having pets around!
I love those photos. Little Sadies eyes will melt the hardest of hearts. And sweet Elvis. He looks so dignified. We're still working on commands with Zoey. She is
ReplyDeletes t u b o r n. And smart. Come is the hardest with her and yet I feel probably the most important if she gets away from us. Chloe was so good. We just caught her eye and she came to us.
Our cat George was great with puppies too. He loved to play and roughhouse and actually played fetch and tag with the boys when they were small. We always said he was more dog than cat!
Still praying for Far Guy to be 100%.
Blessings,
Betsy
You have lots of patience to train a dog. Many people don't have patience or know how.
ReplyDeleteIt must be fun watching all her antics! She sounds like a challenge at times but she is a smart girl and will grow into a well behaved young lady. She sounds like such a happy and fun puppy. Little Elvis is a gorgeous dog!
ReplyDelete12 weeks and still a cutie
ReplyDeleteIt's so good for you to have that puppy for entertainment during these cold dark days. What a cutie.
ReplyDeleteAll three of them are just darling. It must be fun to be with all those pets.
ReplyDeleteElvis is so handsome and Sadie is a cutie pie! She's doing really well but she does have the dog whisperer training her. She looks really innocent in that picture. I can't believe Phoebe lets her do that! My cats would have clawed her to bits....she's a lucky puppy to have such a supportive and understanding family.
ReplyDeleteIt really is amazing that Phoebe hasn't put down a few rules with Sadie. She must not mind too much or she'd scratch her...
ReplyDeleteI think cats secretly love puppies. They know they can bully them around when they want, and puppies are always up for play time... Unlike adult humans or ocher cats..
ReplyDeleteI can see she is very entertaining and so full of energy. It is always interesting to see all the pets adjust to each other.
ReplyDeleteWhat crazy and fun goings-on at your house these days with Sadie and Phoebe and Little Elvis. It certainly sounds like it's keeping you occupied. Love the pictures! Praying for far guy!
