Quiet Days

Far Guy is resting when he can, he does not go anyplace except the Clinic or the Infusion Clinic.  The weather is cold...brrr.  We talked him into a game of Hand and Foot...an interesting highly competitive card game!

I ventured out to pick up Pizza as Sunday is usually Pizza night.   The car was warm on the way back!

I am working on one of my mosaic crochet projects...and playing with the puppy Sadie.

  1. Sounds like a pleasant way to spend time while the weather is bad and Far Guy is recovering.

  2. Bitter cold here also. Staying home as much as possible. Love the mug. Keep warm.

  3. Winter is a time of rest. On most days I thoroughly appreciate it as I realize that all too soon spring will be here & the outside work starts once again... and seemingly goes on forever! But I can't imagine "living in someone else's house", so to speak, during winter. I know your situation was a MUST & how wonderful it is that your child opened up their doors to you... but still, it wouldn't be as easy as it sounds. You & Far Guy are on my mind & in my prayers, Connie. I hope Far Guy gets to feeling *really* good very soon. ~Andrea xoxoxo

  4. I played Hand and Foot with 3 girlfriends on Friday afternoon. It was the first time we had gotten together since before Christmas. Being cautious after being around extended family.

  6. It is amazing how many families have pizza night. In our case, it is usually a Thursday night and involves me making pizza in the oven in cast iron pans, our favorite way.

  7. It's finally warming up here, -18C(0F) this morning. Hopefully that weather makes it to you shortly.

  8. I prefer playing Canasta to Hand and Foot. Have you played Five Crowns? It’s a fun card game, too.

  10. I take it the car was cold on the way TO the pizza - my car heater seems to take forever to heat up while I sit there shivering and shaking :)

  12. Perfect mug for knitters!!
Hand and Foot sounds like a lot of fun. We play cards often with 2 of our sons and of course there's weekly Dominoes but maybe a new game would be an idea.

  13. I've heard of Hand and Foot but I've never played it and, of course I love your knitting mug.
It's good to stay inside where it's good and warm, especially for Far Guy. A friend told us about an Aldi pizza and how good it was. I was there last Friday and bought one. It was only $2.99 and delicious. It tasted like pizzaria pizza. There was just enough for both of us and I really ate too much. The crust was amazing. Definitely not the frozen pizza from my childhood.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  15. Hand and foot sounds interesting....we are game people but have never played that one! Sunday is usually pizza night at our house too. Wish this brutally cold weather would leave us....at least warmer tomorrow during the day! Praying for far guy to get better soon!

  16. We have a Monday supper at Perkins and Saturday is now a pancake cafe date. I am thinking we need to think of something for Wednesdays. Of course eating out sends my blood numbers off the charts as they put sugar in tarter sauce and other things that I have to learn to avoid. The mug is neat. It is too cold to be outside even in Iowa. I really don't want to go get the garbage bin back inside/

  17. I need to get back to the Wintertime project...I've forgotten the little I learned. Love that mug! Friday night is frozen pizza and a movie here. Your card game sounds like fun.
