Last day of September

Goodbye September...I am sad to see you completed for another year...I loved the warmer temperatures you had mid month...perfect summer weather!

Your beautiful fall colors and leaves that fell like rain amused us.

The grass is still green under a carpet of leaves.

Mowing and mulching will continue into October...hopefully with a few warm days and no snow! Please send that memo to October!!

All photos taken at the house with blue trim nearby.

If I had more time I would make apple jelly...as it was a good year for those apples.

  1. I made apple juice to turn into apple jelly later this year. Something to do when the winds are cold and biting and the house could do with some pleasant smells and steam!
    October is upon us.

  2. I have been hoping that snow holds off until December. Think I'll get my wish? Beautiful pictures of Fall colors.

  3. I have no motivation to cook. It's awful.
We did have a nice drive Monday. It was good to get out and pretend all was well.

  6. What beautiful fall leaves! Ours are just beginning to turn, we don't reach peak color until October-November, depending upon elevation. I'm ready for Sept to be over - with all the wildfires around here it wasn't a good month for me. Bring on the winter rains!

  7. Pretty leaves. A couple of our trees are really yellow, but we've still got about a week to go to "peak"

  9. I think this year's colors were brighter than in years past (or at least in my memory). Or perhaps because so much of this year has been awful, I'm looking for something positive. Either way the photos are beautiful!

    Take care and stay well.

  10. Those are beautiful photos. The colors! Oh my! I'm with you on the no snow memo. Preferably for the rest of the year but I think that's asking too much.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  12. We took a ride to my favorite farm yesterday to buy mums and cornstalks. Our leaves are just starting to turn. Meanwhile, everyone staying at home must be decorating for fall. The farm, which raises beef and lamb, put in a greenhouse a few years ago so they could grow their own mums. She was already out of the 2,000 mums she had started this year. Plenty of pumpkins, but we have had issues with raccoons in the neighborhood chewing on them, so we just stuck with some corn stalks for the porch.

  14. The leaves are so colorful, especially with the contrasting green grass behind them.

  15. Very colorful at your place this year. Too bad that it only lasts a short time.

  16. We did have such a beautiful September. I'm hoping that October will be gentle to us so that we can enjoy fall just a bit longer!

  18. I'm sad to see September close. I know we can see that first surprise snowstorm any time in October. No, it won't stick around, but it still wont be pleasant.

  19. Beautiful pictures of leaves! They are spectacular this year. Ooh apple jelly sounds good right about now. Looks like you'll be mulching for awhile yet. I just heard it's supposed to be warmer the second half of October. We'll see!

  20. We had a lovely September ( except for the week of bad air quality) and hopefully the nice weather lasts well into October. Love all the colourful leaves in your pictures.

  21. Hard to believe that beautiful fall color has already made it to your side of the country. What lovely photos! But yes, hopefully October will get the memo, and at least won't bring on the snow quite yet.
