Our youngest daughter Jen and the Granddogs came to visit. Hockey games and Vex Robotics Tournaments on the computer were watched. Card games have been played, craft projects worked on, walks taken, dogs enjoyed and good food eaten.
Miney is inbetween them on the couch.
Miney inherited Chance’s red harness…it helps her get down the stairs safely. Chance would have approved…he always shared with Miney.
Little Elvis has a spot on the other couch. He chased squirrels and almost caught them…he got into a bunch of burrs…so he was brushed.
This is their first trip here since Chance died, they looked for him a bit and sniffed spots outside that Chance frequented. They seem much more accepting of his absence than us humans.
I have always had 2 dogs usually and when one died the other stopped eating and laid around and literally 'looked sad'....it took about a month before they started getting back to their normal self. When I had my original Serenity...Nitty, on the farm she got cancer and I had to have her put down as she was in pain. She was at the vets on morphine and I took Abby, my other dog with me to say goodbye to her. She did and on the way home she howled all the way! If people don't think animals have feelings or emotions...they're nuts! Glad you had some human company and some dog company and I hope you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteMust have been nice to have family and dogs in the house, though. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you and Far Guy, Jen and the dogs had a healing day. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect weekend.
ReplyDeleteSo you're telling me that you had a good weekend. Have many more good weekends.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had some nice relaxing time!
ReplyDeleteAnimals know things we just can not ever know...and understand things are more of the 'other side' then we get to understand. It's nice to have family come visit.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have a doggie visit, and a daughter too.
ReplyDeleteFamily and granddogs make a warm and loving weekend. I enjoyed the pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a good time was had by all. I also still miss Chance and appreciate seeing his picture whenever you post.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good weekend
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the perfect weekend. I know that animals understand loss too. When we have lost a pet, the one left behind always reacts in someway to that. I remember when our last dog Annie, died. Our cat howled for over a month and the vet told us we needed to get him another dog. I thought that was strange. We needed to get the cat a dog! But they were such good buddies and had been raised together. These animals understand more than we think they do. I’m glad you had this weekend with your grand dogs.
ReplyDeleteMany blessings, Betsy
A visit from your daughter and the granddogs seems a pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteGreat pic of Jen and Nice Guy. Are her socks hand=knit? goodnightgram
ReplyDeleteNot sure I was going to ask her but I forgot.
DeleteIt's tough losing a pet. I'm so sorry for your loss. We're struggling with a paine-in-the-arse cat.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteI bet it was fun to have dogs in the house for the weekend. Daughter, too! They're such pretty dogs and look very comfy in your house.
