The smoke from the fires in Canada and the Western United States is here again.
The smoke blocks out the sun.
Far Guy struggles to breathe in the poor quality air.
It was very warm yesterday 83 F or 28 C eh! That is warm for us in September. We might get some rain in the next couple of days and maybe that will clean up the air.

ReplyDeleteThe fog is here; the temps are rising and the trees are losing their leaves. Something is not right; it is only September 14th. Mother Nature is really messing with the weather this September.
ReplyDeleteOur air is clear for a change, but yours isn't. I do hope you get that rain and it clears your air, for everybody's sake but especially FG.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is awful especially for Far Guy! Can he wear a mask or something that would help? Amazing that it comes so far and so much of it. I hope you get the rain. It's hot here again too...high 80's this week but not humid at least.
ReplyDeleteHe has a special mask that filters out pollutants...but it doesn't seem to get it all. Just a regular mask doesn't work, it has to be a special one.
DeleteSounds like it's going to snow in Montana this weekend - that will help firefighters extinguish some of the flames.

ReplyDeleteOh yeah, we've been dealing with smoke most of last month, especially when the Columbia River Gorge went up in flames. Here's hoping we get a good soaking rain!

ReplyDeleteCanadians are friendly and like to share! ;-( So sorry about Far Guy though, that must be awful. I too wonder if a mask would help. We have certainly had our share of smoke this summer as well, but the weather changed at the end of last week and cleared it out for us. I won't complain though, since others directly affected by the fires (and hurricanes as well) are so much worse off.
ReplyDeleteSure hope it rains soon in your area. Our skies returned after the rain last week and I was so happy to see blue and clouds after weeks of smoke. My niece and her husband live up in the Cariboo and the fires have been fierce and long. She uses a mask as she farms and gardens - I think she wrote that it was a fine particulate type mask. Hope you are feeling less pain each day. Hugs.

It's been a bad summer for smoke and worse for those with respiratory problems.
ReplyDeleteWe are blessed the last few days- we have cooler weather and the wind has blown the smoke out of the valley. The fires still rage on, we just aren't getting the smoke here.

ReplyDelete( 85F.) which is a surprise since it was not forecast ( I wore long pants and I'm too warm and also too lazy to change).
We had a lot of smoke for a while, but we didn't have the breathing issues

It's surprising to hear that smoke has hugged the ground for so many miles! It's been hazy out here, as well. I had a friend who took a long road trip this summer and said the smoke from the Canadian and western U.S. fires was particularly bad when she was in Montana--and even over into Oregon. Seems the smoke has been everywhere this summer. Hope the rain clears the air soon for you and Far Guy!
ReplyDeleteThe wind direction is protecting us from that. I can't believe the news has chosen not to cover the fires even if they are in Canada. We have stuff in the air judging by my wife's relations when she is outside. The more stuff that is in the air the more she coughs. Our heat has been high so it all gets to be too much to be outside.
