I am taking it slow and easy. If I try to do something I shouldn’t then I have more pain. Most of my time is spent in oblivion with my arm elevated and iced while I lay on the couch.
I got dressed yesterday, putting on bra is quite painful so I may just forget that for awhile.
My parents visited yesterday and brought an apple crisp that my Mother had made.
We took Chance for a short ride over to the neighbors to help celebrate a birthday. We didn’t stay long as my hand/arm was swelling.
One day at a time.
Good luck to you. I spent some time in Park Rapids in the mid '70's, staying with one of the Wilson's (who was a school teacher there). Don't remember her name (aunt of a neighbor in White Bear Lake). Love the area.
ReplyDeleteHope you get better soon.
Oblivion can be a good thing just after that surgery . . . and apple crisp doesn't hurt. What a nice treat. Sending good thoughts.
ReplyDeleteSending prayers. Take it easy.
ReplyDeleteTake it easy and don't rush. Hope it heals very quickly!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are through the worst and healing quickly. Wish I could help you eat that apple crisp! As you say, one day at a time.
ReplyDeleteTake care. Don't rush things.
ReplyDeleteDon't rush...of course you know that! Hugs and prayers for you to have a fast healing!
ReplyDeleteSorry you are having so much pain. Hard to put on a bra when you have arm or hand trouble. Spend as much time lying down and taking care of that arm/hand as you need. Many things can wait and Chance and FG can help too.
ReplyDeleteForget bras for a while. Heck--I'd be in a nightgown on the couch with my arm raised for as long as it took till the swelling and pain subside. Take it easy!! Let FarGuy wait on you for a while. (Hard for those of us who are used to doing everything for ourselves--LOL!)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Rita. I had that surgery and you might as well forget bras for a while! Some things are simply not worth the pain and trouble. Rest and let others take care of you for a change!
ReplyDeleteThe hardest part of healing is having patience. Take the opportunity to let everyone else spoil you! You deserve it!
ReplyDeleteSleeping is good. And I've heard apple crisp is especially good for healing hands! Take care, be lazy, take it easy. This too shall pass.
ReplyDeleteHOPE you heal quickly!
ReplyDeletePain is not fun. You really will have to slow your pace down for quite a few days.
ReplyDeleteso very sorry to hear about your pain and agony and swelling, Far Side. Sure hope things get better for you soon. In the meantime, practice your patience and let that nice hubby of yours help you out a little, not to mention Chance the Wonder Dog! Thinking of you and saying a prayer for a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteHopefully soon the pain will recede.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your pain but glad the surgery was swift. Now the slow healing, take it easy!
ReplyDeleteThis is your time to let others care for you.
ReplyDeleteIt's practically impossible not to want to use your hand but elevation is the key, I think. Just because you're not in the hospital does not mean you are 'okay' to do things. Take it easy...I know it is hard especially when you are home and see things you want to do but really....forget the bra too! LOL!
ReplyDeleteCheering for you to get over this hump. It's good the surgery is behind you, but I know how draining the recuperation time can be--especially dealing with pain--and hope it goes quickly for you. Prayers and hugs!
