Odda and Bluebird Houses

We took Odda back home today and saw two Bluebirds on the way home.

Odda April 6 2017

Odda comes to visit when Jo is gone, sometimes I think Jo leaves and two minutes later Odda does too.  Odda is happy to see us and knows that we will call Jo and then Jo will come get her.  Yesterday we took her home, put her on her deck and scolded her…not that it did any good. ( She didn’t even put her ears down.)

Anyways we decided to clean out all the Bluebird Houses after supper.   They are all ready to be occupied.  (One had two nests and one dead Bluebird, one had a mouse nest.)  We have nine houses in different spots.  One house had a bird in it…not sure what kind of bird it was…because it flew out as we approached.

  1. I wondered what had happened to our bluebirds, but I can see you are taking good care of them for the summer! Lots of robins still here and I've asked a few what they are waiting for. Fortifying themselves for the next leg of the trip north, I guess.

  3. I am sure the Bluebirds are thrilled with "clean" accommodations. We have a lot of robins around here; glad you are finally getting some by you.

  7. We have seen some blue birds , they were just flying through and
made a rest stop. The robins and mocking birds stay around and have baby's.

  9. Oda is such a good neighbor as she doesn't want to be alone. It is a good excuse to travel when parents are gone. I hope you bluebird boxes take.

  13. I love bluebirds but I've never seen any here. Good for you cleaning out the houses. My bird nest and bird are gone. She came back every year but I think she died and then this winter the nest disappeared. Oh well, the cycle of life.

  14. Odda knows a good place to visit! We have some birdhouses here but I don't know yet what will be nesting in them- I think most likely swallows.

  15. I don't think we have bluebirds here. I have to wonder why Jo doesn't put Odda inside when they are gone. Of course I don't know the route she takes to get to you, whether any roads are involved. But, there are people everywhere that will pick up a nice looking dog and steal it.
