S(no)w Fun

Chance seems to be the only one having a good time in the snow.

I bet you are getting tired of snow pictures.. me too.

That is what is new around here..new snow..to pile on top of the old snow, and to cover up the ice.  It snowed almost all day yesterday..the idiot weather forecaster said we would get about a half an inch..my eye.  My Nephew Josh came by and plowed us out and Far Guy did some cleaning up in the yard this morning..moving part of the huge snow bank back.  We just might be running out of places to put the freaking snow.

At least today the sun is shining, I sat outside for awhile.  I got pine pitch on my pants..so I had a sticky butt.  Skin-so- Soft gets rid of pine pitch.

I had to sit down for awhile..and I sat in the snow bank awhile..damn it is slippery out there, just like that I was ass over teakettle in the snow bank.  Chance noticed me first and came over and licked my face and then brought me the ball ( a ball always consoles him and makes him feel better..if it works for him why wouldn’t it work for me) ..all the while Far Guy was talking to me..but not looking at me..then he turned around.

Why is it that when you fall down ..everyone wants you to get up right away?  When I have fallen, I don’t care who laughs..I am going to stay right there on the ground or in the snow bank until I have moved all the hurting parts and have gone through the mental check list of all of my 206 bones.  Then I might just crawl out of the icy slippery part and then get up.  Who in their right mind wants to fall twice.  I am fine..I managed to sit the bowl of bread crumbs that I was taking out for the birds neatly into the snow bank without spilling them all over and my camera was safely around my neck. It was s(no)w fun but it is February what do I expect:(

  3. Does anyone remember making Snow Ice Cream from fresh snow or was that just a me thing? Mom would pour a touch of cream on a big bowl of ice and add vanilla and sugar to it. It was not thick or rich but it sure was fun.

It's still February. I'm afraid you are stuck in it for a while more.

  4. Yikes. I am with you on this subject up to a point, although I now report to my spouse when I venture out on the icy slopes to keep those birds, squirrels, deer, rabbits and maybe opposums and racoons happy. Fact is, I fell doing this twice last winter, once so fast backwards hitting my head that I was laying on the ground before I knew what happened. Now I report in on the theory that it might be hours laying in the snowbank before the solitare playing computer lady notices I'm gone. Really!

  7. At my age, I certainly can't afford to fall so I'm with you on that one. Gracie planted her gumby on the floor in front of me early last spring and after flying across the room and my dinner flying as well, I had the worse fall I've ever had. Not only did I not want to get up, I didn't know if I could get up. It took about four months to recoup. Boy, you all got a lot of snow!!!

  8. I hope you're not too stiff tomorrow. A warm soaking bath sounds like good medicine. Have Far Guy bring you a glass of wine!

  9. I am glad to know you are okay after your tumble. Falling is scary stuff. At least Chance offered you some consolation - even if it was a ball. He was trying to help at least. I'm surprised at Far Guy for leaving you there in a heap.
Our snow melted. Now the idiot weather prognosticators say we are getting 7 inches tonight. I am sick of snow. I am sick of cold. I am sick of winter. I am sick of February, but at least I know it is going away in a few days.

  10. I'm sorry for you, really I am, how terrible to be stuck in snow your whole entire life....

  11. I'm sorry you are still getting snow. Hope this is the last of it for you. Be careful slipping and sliding around out there. Chance is funny bringing you the ball. I bet that ball stays close to Chance so he can watch it. After all it is his ball. Buddy is so funny that way. He knows that something is his and don't be fooling around with it. He'll nose you to death to get what belongs to him.

  13. Ok, great description of the tumble in the snow, but I want a picture. No excuses..you had the camera!!!
Now that you've got a dump truck load of snow we're sending you some very cold weather. It's been nasty here all week.

  14. sounds like the canine cared more about your fall than the man - - but isn't that typical of husbands? Without going back to old blogs, are you the one who posted pictures of ice fishing last year? or maybe it was someone else - like Rae.
But back to your fall - - - I am so glad you are okay as far as bones being whole!

  15. Glad you weren't injured...and yes, we still have plenty of snow...we usually don't get our big melt until April here and it still sometimes snows after that date too!

  16. Far Guy didn't see me fall..but as soon as he turned around and saw me he came over to help me up..Chance just noticed me first.
Miss Lynda. Yes I did have some ice fishing stories last year and photos too..check the January and Feb archives:)

  18. There is nothing that makes you feel so helpless as falling...glad it was in the snow bank and maybe softer than the ice. Glad you are okay but bet you will be sore.

  19. Glad you did not sprain or break anything. You are getting so much more snow than we are here. It is snowing lightly here today but most of the snow was already melted by yesterday.

  20. Well, as long as the bread crumbs didn't spill and the camera didn't break! Heeheehhe!!!

'So glad you didn't hear anything. If your like me your so bundled that ya just bounce back when ya fall!

I for one, am happy when nobody sees me go down...it's not a pretty sight!

God bless you and have a safe amazin' weekend sweetie!!!

  21. Dogs do love snow! Of course, so do I to play in. Not so much to shovel. Glad you didn't hurt anything but perhaps your dignity.
