Buffalo Gal had never watched Bluebirds in the wild. Our set of Bluebirds seemed like such a small thing to share, so we invited them over, the Bluebirds busily kept feeding their babies while we feasted on homemade Buffalo Gal Rhubarb Custard Pie! I do appreciate a freshly baked pie, especially the first rhubarb of the season. She did share her pie crust secret with me..so in case I ever decide to bake a pie I will be prepared.
We had a lovely visit. I so enjoy their company, this would never have been possible..except for the fact that we are both "real" bloggers..my what you read is what you get attitude gained me a new friend. Let me tell you now- a- days everyone needs as many friends as they can get. This was the second time we have met, we are looking forward to a get together at their place on the Buffalo Bluff later in the summer. She reports that Chance is just as special in person as he is on my blog. I knew he would like her, he thought she was a wonderful ball thrower!
The blogging community, should you ever decide to join it, is a very interesting way to make new friends. That may seem foreign to some of the readers..but I know the bloggers understand! If you are lucky enough to actually meet a fellow blogger face to face, and still like each other your life will be just a little richer, and if they bake a great pie, that is an added bonus:)
Meeting friends through blogs is fun and also rewarding. I have only personally met one blogger but hope to meet more in the future. I consider some of them very GOOD friends, indeed.
ReplyDeleteAnd am hoping someday to come up and meet YOU.
Blessings
Dear Far Side,
ReplyDeleteWe too have been amazed at the emotional connection we have found in blogging. We would like you to know that we cherish the comments you leave for us and every day we watch anxiously for your next post. You, above all others have become "family" to us. Perhaps it is because your comments are so kind and your stories are so real - we truly feel like we know you and that you care about us. In any case, you are very special to us and we thought this would be a perfect time to let you know!
By the way - that picture is fantastic!
Much love and affection,
Emma Rose and The Duchess
Good Morning Connie, What a treasure to have met a fellow blogger in person and share your lovely bluebirds with (and get a pie too!) I am amazed at the bonds I have made blogging. I feel God has sent some special, understanding and compassionate people my way and you are definitely at the top of that list. Hope you have a wonderful afternoon and give Chance a poochie kiss from Harriet.
ReplyDeleteWe Bloggers are a interesting community, and I too consider many of them my friends. How fortunate you are to have met "in person". Did you get a recipe for the pie?
ReplyDeleteJen
Like your new header! I haven't met any new bloggers face to face but there are a few I'd like to!
ReplyDeleteI haven't met any blog buddies in person, but over the years I have met in "real" life quite a few others from online communities, and I cherish the friendships I've made that way.
ReplyDeleteYou hear a lot lately about how online friendships are not real, that the web is cutting people off from face to face interraction. Clearly, they just don't get it.
I have learned so much from my blogging friends. I can say my live has been enriched by these friendships. I live and work from my home which can be pretty lonely sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I would have it no other way, but I'm around my husband, son, and Son-in-law all the time plus all our male customers. It does me a world of good to get on here and communicate with other women.
ReplyDeleteIt is an amazing how many blogging friends I have made in 2 short months. It is a special community.
ReplyDeleteWe bloggers do seem to have a common thread don't we ?
ReplyDeleteI have been privileged to have made so many new friends in the past six months of blogging, and we visit with each other almost daily.
Oh we don't sit around drinking tea on each other's porch but the daily contact of a little "comment" or reading a delightful post, feels like you have truly spent some quality time with friend.
Here's to many more years of these new friendships !
There are so many of my blogging friends that I would love to meeting, if ever geography allows it! What a wonderful pots...so glad that you were able to spend some time together. This is a wonderful community...I love the people I have met through blogging...including you, Connie! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't met any of my blogger friends in real life. Yet. I have made so many new friends, it is really quite amazing. All in the space of just a few months. I can't imagine not blogging... I would wonder what is going on in everyone else's life!!
ReplyDeleteSo even tho I may take a break for a week (or two!), I will always be back. :)
