I missed Book Club yesterday. After Far Guy's Infusion we readed to the ER as he had an episode where his Oxygen sats plummeted into the 60's. We waited there four hours to be seen...at which point he ran out of supplemental Oxygen and said "Let's go home I can get better care there."
Anyway this was the book. twice by Mitch Albom. I enjoyed it very much and give it a 9 out of 10 stars. Far Guy is reading it now. So I can have a discussion with him when he is done reading.
I have two eyes on Far Guy and I know a place Up North where they have more than one Dr on duty in the ER.
What's cooking? We had water for lunch. So when we got home I made a Pizza for supper and it was really good!

Far Side
Ugh. I keep hoping one day we'll all stop fighting about who is going to pay for the rising healthcare costs and start solving why it costs so much and perhaps attract more doctors to the profession while we are at it.
ReplyDeleteOh no! What a sad commentary on your ER! Maybe you better head north today if not better. Praying for you both!
ReplyDeleteWhat’s important can really be tattooed on your heart in situations like this. Water for lunch. No air. Those are two very important items—air and water. Hope oxygen level is better. 🙏
ReplyDeleteI am curious about the book. Will do a search. Wishing you a more uneventful day today.
Prayers for Far Guy!!! This is so scary
ReplyDeleteGood heavens! Poor Far Guy. Thanks for book tip. Laura
ReplyDeleteYikes!! I find it hard to imagine waiting that long at an ER with no attention. That is inexcusable! I hope he's doing better today. I haven't read that particular Mitch Albom book but his others were good.
ReplyDeleteSeems like the ER is the busiest part of every hospital.
ReplyDeleteStill keeping you both in my prayers.
Seems your ERs are as bad as ours. The wait times are so awful. Poor Far Guy. I hope he'll be okay.
ReplyDeleteLD...Water for lunch is simple. They say you should drink water when some feels wrong. We have pot pies in the freezer for emergency spells of no one wants to cook. I actually grilled out on the deck our last steak. My one doctor told we to stop eating red meat. Ughhhh!
ReplyDeleteYour ER is slightly better than ours, in that at least once a month our ER is closed for the weekend. Because nothing ever happens on weekends, right? I hope Far Guy's numbers have come up at home. Scary times.
ReplyDeleteMitch Album is a very good writer. I'll have to look for this book.
