Mulching is over!

I am declaring leaf mulching done for the year!  I was really lucky that my baby brother has a huge mulching mower and he came through our yard a couple of times.

The mower was washed off and is drying overnight before Far Guy puts it away for the Winter.  My red boots were washed and my lawn mowing clothing is in the washer...so I am done.

The weather was great yesterday as I made the rounds for the last time.

Not sure when this Popple will lose its leaves but they can blow away!

My other baby brother has some trees that are still losing leaves...but I got what I could.

Sounds like snow is in the forecast for next week.  Far Guy moved my regular snow shovel and my electric snow shovel to the front door.

I mowed off the wild gardens West of the house, the ones East of the house are mowed in the Spring.

We still have a few things to do outside yet....but we are hopeful and will leave the patio table and chairs out for a few more days!

Minnesota Weather:  High 71F  or  22C  Low 55F or 13C

What's Cooking: Eggs, sausages and potatoes:)

  4. I'm hoping the snow holds off until I get further south. We're getting rain today, but the northern part of the province is supposed to get up to 50cm/12 inches of snow this weekend!
    Far too soon.

  6. We still have trees full of leaves. It will be a while before we are done with mulching. We also need to get the snowblower ready for the season and get out the shovels. It's that time of year!

  7. LD...Wow, snow will shut you down. We are behind you about three weeks. I can't mulch until my wife says I can. My last surgery was five days ago. I am going to spot mow just a little tomorrow no matter what. I can't do all of it yet at the same time. Your trees are pretty. My locust has such small leaves and they keep tracking inside the house.

  9. Our lawn mower was put away for the winter but the weather has been so mild that the grass is still growing. Also many of our trees are still green. You have some beautiful fall foliage.

  10. Our leaves are just beginning to fall. We'll be cleaning up until Thanksgiving.
Your weather is still warmer than ours, but frost is not in the near future. Loving the blue skies in the afternoon when the fog burns off.

  11. All of our trees are having drought shock. I would give anything for some snow...rain, fog, dew...anything with a bit of moisture in it.

  12. Not the 's' word already?!!!! When do you move to Jen's? How is the new house progressing? Have you started packing and downsizing? You don't have to answer all this now but can update when you want on another post when the time is right.

  13. Is a popple a poplar tree. The trees are pretty. We will not have much color. So dry the leaves fall fast.

    Snow?!?! Unbelievable. You’re getting winterized.

  14. You must be relieved that mulching is done for this year. But Snow as soon as possibly next week?

  15. My husband has been mulching too. Our maples are just beginning to turn color, but the ash trees are nearly bare already. The guy is coming next week to blow out our sprinkler system so it will be off for the winter. The snow will probably stay north of us, but our temps should be more normal. Yesterday it got to 80 degrees here.

  16. Lovely colors! We have had snow twice now but it melts quickly... so far.
Deer season starts in a week, I fear that big buck we see has his days numbered.

  17. Our colour is absolutely amazing right now but I'm starting to notice some very bare trees. It will all be gone soon.
