Book Club 2026: March

We read another historical fiction book for book club.

The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner

I gave it an 8 out of 10 on my scale.  Parts of it seemed to be interjected willy nilly and didn't really go along with one of the female lead characters.

Everyone said they enjoyed the book.

  1. It's always interesting to see what books are being read by a book club, and what people think of it. The book club I used to belong to had such a variety of tastes in terms of what we read.

  2. Reading is a joy we both share. It’s a blessing. Another distraction from the everyday ho hum of life!

  3. My Goodreads log tells me I read this back in 2021, but in re-reading the description, it doesn't ring a single bell. So, even though I rated it 4/5 stars, which usually means I liked it enough to re-read it, I must have been feeling generous. I obviously enjoyed it for that rating, but not a bit of it "stuck" in my memory. lol. I'm glad you and your book club enjoyed it.

  5. Reading a book out in the sun today because it's 82 degrees! Last week we still had big patches of snow in town! Crazy weather!

  6. That's another one I haven't heard of. But I do love the cover colors! :-)
    Blessings and hugs,

  7. I can't help thinking some authors add unnecessary bits just to lengthen their book. ( I often skip those parts or at least just quickly skim to make sure I don't miss something important.)
