We did not watch the Super Bowl game...just not football fans. Andy and Jen were invited out, one of their friends loves football and she puts on a party. Andy and Jen brought home cupcakes, candy and fruit pizza.
The treat cups were filled with M & M s and then the candy bars etc were taped to straws with curly ribbon. There is now enough candy in the house to put everyone into a Sugar Coma...might not be such a bad idea as it is really cold outside...we could sleep off the cold spell.
Yesterday I ventured out to the grocery store and the $1.25 store. Far Guy stayed home. The wind chill was freeze your snot in place awful.
Far Side
no football here either...divorced the sports nut years ago...but plenty of sewing...lol
ReplyDeleteI have a great photo of my nutty neighbor walking up the road towards me on a frigid day with the most incredible frozen 'stuff' coming down his face and beard. He was grubby [he rarely washes] ... It was a snot freezing day. One of the coolest B&W portraits [not gross] I've ever done.
ReplyDeleteAnyway. I get it. I did have to go out in it yesterday to take the car in! A $2,800 job that ended up being $0.00. When we bought my car hubby insisted on the 100K mile warranty/ 10 yr warranty which I thought was a rip off. It wasn't. Struts and ball joints were replaced at no cost! WOW!
Happy dance.
PS. I don't do the Super Bowl either.
I thought we had it bad here until I read your post. Yikes and double yikes!
ReplyDeleteSo weird that the dollar store is no longer the dollar store!
ReplyDeleteVery creative treat cups! I ventured out in the cold yesterday too, also to the grocery store. And this morning we're getting some light snow again. It's zero outside right now but the morning news was talking about the really brutal cold in ND. I'll be venturing out again this afternoon as I'm headed to a friend's house to play some cards.
ReplyDeletesuch a cute little cup filled with goodies. Someone was being very creative. I've been watching the weather news, and wow, so much of the country is getting plastered with ice, snow and wind. Y'all stay safe!
ReplyDeleteYour Dollar Store went up twenty-five cents, also. It's still better than the price of groceries. The built a new Dollar Tree that is within a couple of miles from our house. It is a larger one and they keep it well-stocked and very clean.
ReplyDeleteThere is a reason some animals hibernate during this weather. They are smart.
Mark watched some of the game, I did not. We didn't have wind yesterday, thankfully. A sugar high sounds sorta good to me at the moment.
ReplyDeleteAwesome treat cups. I'd keep those handy.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I know what that feels like when the cold hurts your face, and the boogers are solid. Glad not to be experiencing that part of winter.
ReplyDeleteQuite the treat cups!
I love the idea of the candy bars taped to the straws making it look bouquet like.
ReplyDeleteMy PBS faves were on at the same time: Miss Scarlet, All Creatures Great and Small and Funny Woman. Worked out perfectly. If anything really interesting happens, we will hear about it the whole next week.
ReplyDeleteI am the football fan in our house, Tom is not. I watched, he was around and sort of knew what was happening.
ReplyDeleteCandy and cupcakes are fun, and you didn't even have to go to the party. Even better.
I like cake and such but candy I have no problem leaving for others.
ReplyDeleteKeep warm and cozy.
Your candy cups look like fun. We're not football people either. We just watched regular stuff. It's a feels like temp of -11 F right now but is supposed to get much, much colder. The freeze the snot kind of cold. We ended up with about 5 inches of snow today. I didn't leave the condo. In fact, for the first time in a long time, I left my jammies on all day. I could get used to that! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have to venture out tomorrow to take dinner to a new mom, dad and brand new 4 day old baby tomorrow. I hope the roads are better than I saw on the news tonight. There are really some idiots out there that don't know what to do with a little snow. We haven't had any for awhile and they have forgotten everything they ever learned. Yikes!
Blessings,
Betsy
I don't even know who played--lol!
ReplyDeleteGlad I didn't have to go anywhere. Wouldn't want to have frozen snot, for sure--lol! And that is really true...or go out with wet or damp hair! Did you ever do that going to school and freeze the ends of your hair? Can break right off!
I can remember years back, when I lived in Kansas, when my scarf would freeze to my face because it was so windy there all the time. Ugh!
