I mulched the leaves in our yard on Monday and got some mulching done at my baby brothers shop. I still have more areas to do but it rained a bit on Tuesday. Our weather went from nice and warm to chilly.
I probably still have time before it snows. Most of the leaves are on the ground and not in the trees. One big wind would help me out!I refreshed all the solar lights in the yard and took care of some odds and ends.
I finished all the Christmas ornaments and they are wrapped up and ready for tins/mailers and bags for deliveries. I will reveal the design after they have been mailed out sometime in November.
No progress on the Christmas card yet...the paper, cards and envelopes are ready...I just need to watercolor the design and sign them.
The swelling in my face has gone down, I still have one problem area where a stitch might be surfacing.
Uffda.
Far Guy had quite a time over the weekend with all the fragrances of flowers, perfumes and aftershaves. He struggled on Sunday and Monday...but seems better now. Fingers crossed that we averted a hospital stay.
Far Side
I must have missed something about an averted hospital stay? Hope all is working out!

Donna, Yes my husband has only 20% lung function so any thing in the air irritates his lungs; perfumes, aftershave, flowers, cleaning solvents, smoke and dust. He is slowly recovering after attending the wedding.
DeleteDave has been mulching leaves here too. The wind has knocked down a lot of leaves, especially from those ash trees. But the maples are just beginning to turn. I can only imagine how perfumes and flowers impact FG's breathing.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing you all have quite a few leaves. We never think about preparations for Winter, as our winters are not bad. I'm guessing you all have a lot to do in preparation this time of the year. Glad you all have avoided a hospital stay and hoping the swelling on your face subsides without you having to go back to the doctor.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Far Guy is on the upswing. He would not have wanted to miss the wedding, but I can see how it would affect his lungs. Your poor face. What a time you have had!
ReplyDeleteWe have played that roulette game with the leaves in the past as well. Most of the time we got them up before the first snow, once in a while they get buried in snow. Looking forward to your ornament reveal!
ReplyDeleteI still have leaves on trees so I will wait to mulch. I am sensitive to scent. I am sorry for Far Guy.
ReplyDeletePerhaps, in future, invitations to an event can indicate an appreciation for people not to wear scents. It must be very difficult for Far Guy and I'm sure your family members understand the impact. It likely won't stop everyone but it might reduce his exposure.
ReplyDeleteHope the swelling continues to come down and it isn't a nasty stitch making its way to the surface. Good luck!
Praying that FarGuy is breathing better today.
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely feeling better getting all that done! I hope your face continues to heal so you will be done with all that. Glad FarGuy is doing better. Other people don't usually think of perfumes and all the rest. I do because of Leah. Quit using any scents after she became a part of my life. (Except my one indulgence--lightly scented shower soaps--because they don't cling to the body so they don't bother Leah much and she said it was okay.) Sometimes the old ladies in the building leave wafting perfumes in the hallway that linger and Leah has to hold her breath as she scoots down the hallway. I hope you both feel much better soon. Can hardly wait to see your ornaments and Christmas cards! :)
ReplyDeleteI can sympathize with Far Guy- in the last couple years some smells make me gag. Glad he is recovering, and you too, hope it won't be long to have everything back to normal.
ReplyDeleteGlad you help your brother. He helps you when you need him and his equipment. Return🌟
ReplyDeleteMany people, and especially young men, over do scents. They bother me and I don't have lung disease.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that stitch in time stays fine. :-)
Good news that the swelling on your face has gone down. Hopefully Far Guy will be back to normal breathing ( such as it is) after being inundated with scents on the weekend.
ReplyDeleteThere are too many leaves around my front door so annoying.
ReplyDeleteI need to make a start of next years calendars
I've been mulching like mad. Still more to do. Sorry about hubby.
ReplyDeleteAll the best.
Fingers crossed that you've seen the last of your infection issues on your face.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great thing about about a condo. No leaves, mowing or snow removal. :-) I'm glad that the swelling is better, that must mean the infection is clearing up. Now lets hope that one little area gets better too! Poor Far Guy. I know most people don't even think how perfumed anything can affect people. Piper is okay with scents and LOVES them all. But she's allergic to the lotions that contain the scents. She's now limited to a lotion the dermatologist prescribes. It's not surprising since she was born allergic to so many things and her Dad is the same way.
ReplyDeleteTake care and rest often.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
Fall clean up never seems to end.
ReplyDeleteSure hope far guy feels better with every day. Hope your poor face goes back to normal too. uff da......such troubles. Praying for you both. Stay warm and cozy.
ReplyDeletePrayer of health for both you and Far Guy!!!
ReplyDeleteWould a mask have helped Far Guy? I hope he's back to normal soon!
ReplyDeleteLD....I have been thinking about Christmas trees lately. My wife is developing a cough again for the fall. I am hoping that it is just sinus.
