Car Report

The mechanic in town that does work on Tilly says she needs a new boot, but is safe to drive until she is repaired.  They are ordering parts.  ( I am not sure what a boot is in car speak but apparently it covers something important)

Far Guy brought her back home.

Tilly is looking good for being 65 years old. We hope to get to a couple of car shows yet this summer.

  2. She is a fine looking car. I don't know what a boot is, either. I thought it was Brit speak for the trunk.

  3. Tilly is a true beauty. My husband would love this car!! Has Tilly been in the family for years, or did you all purchase it as a project? I've been to some car shows and they are very interesting. Hope she gets her new boot soon.

  4. Oh yes - Tilly does look good. We browsed at a small car show last night at the monthly First Friday street party downtown. Live music, food trucks, games for kids, and the car show. Tilly would have fit in very nicely.

  6. Shug, Tilly was purchased because my husband had a car in High School a 1959 Desoto stationwagon. This one came for sale and he bought it, it is a driver and a bit of a project from time to time.

  8. I hope the parts are available soon. I'm thinking for a car that age, it may be a little more difficult to find what is needed.

I've no idea what a boot is either.

  9. The British call a trunk a boot, but that isn't what the mechanic meant. so I have no idea. That is a nice looking car.

  16. What we call the boot in our car is the storage area at the back - I think they are called trunks in some countries (to me, a trunk belongs to a tree!). I love how complex language can be, with the same word having so many different meanings :)
