No Blue Sky

We had rain all day yesterday.  No blue skies or jet trails or aircraft sparkling in the sunlight.

April showers bring May flowers or so they say.  We are thankful for the rain as everything is real dry here,  the chances of wildfire are high.  Looks like it may rain a few days.

We ran an errand to town, Far Guy needed some special gasket for his old car Tilly.  I needed  wanted some different paper for May Baskets. We both accomplished our tasks.

Yes it is May Day next Wednesday...so be thinking what kind of May Basket you can share with a small child, a neighbor or a friend! It doesn't have to be fancy... just fun!

May Day kinda snuck up on me...but I have the whole rainy weekend to putz with paper.

  1. "April showers give May flowers", if this is true we're going to have the most wonderful, flowerfilled May ever, as our April just broke the record for precipitation.
I love your tradition with May baskets, it's totally unknown here.

  2. I look forward to seeing what you come up with this year. I always enjoy your May baskets and have done it a time or two, but nobody around here seems to want to play.

  5. Glad you got some rain. We got an inch on Thursday, and a little more than an inch yesterday. Much needed here too. I drove in rain all the way to Sioux Falls in the afternoon and all the way home again. It was so dark (at 3 pm) for awhile that my car navigation screen switched to night mode.

  6. I'm sure the rain is welcomed, both by the garden perennials and the firefighters. We've got 6 active, but contained, fires here in the province already.
We had a drizzle on Thursday but nothing since. It's cooled off today but the sky is definitely blue. Enjoy your play with paper!

  8. It rained all day and into the night down here, too. Very welcome, although the gale force winds were not so much. Enjoy the paper putz.

  10. And here we are, in a flood watch again today. Flash floods yesterday after the tornado hit. Another yuck afternoon/evening is predicted. I hope it doesn't come to fruition.
    Blessings,

  12. Here in the Netherlands, we're also experiencing a lot of rain and lower temperatures than in previous years. I'm happy with the rain too, but it shouldn't be too much, or else the water levels in the rivers rise too quickly. ☔️💧

  14. Rain is absolutely bucketing down here. We were lucky that it wasn't coming down as heavily when we walked earlier.
Good to know that Far Guy is feeling well enough to plan what he needs to do on Tilly next.

On May Day we will be taking Tom's plants to my sister for her garden club plant sale. Tom collects starts and makes cuttings all year to grow on for her sale. We make a fun day of it, visiting nurseries and having fun with plants.
