Snow Dec 15

Yessiree it snowed again.  Noah was on snow removal duty yesterday.

We got a couple more inches of snow and it got windy.

I managed to get Far Guy over to the Hospital for his Infusion.  There wasn't much traffic, we went out for Breakfast after his appointment...Perkins is kitty corner from the hospital.  Far Guy had lab work and had to fast...so he was very hungry by 12:30 when his infusion was over.  Usually I run errands ( go to Hobby Lobby) while he is getting his infusion...but the roads were iffy so I sat with him and then we went to Wally World before heading back home.  We are now staying put for the duration of the storm.

Usual snow fall amounts for the entire winter are right around 40 inches of snow...in the last few days we have over 1/4 of that snow total.

I didn't go anywhere on Thursday but did go hiking in the snow.

  2. It does seem like it makes sense to hunker down and stay inside until this storm is over. That is a LOT of snow!

  3. Still snowing and blowing here this morning. The drifts definitely grew larger overnight. We could get around in town if needed, but no travel is still advised on roads around us. I-90 is closed from here to the west. Feels like a normal winter.

  6. That driveway and the one across the street look so precisely cleared on the sides. My guess is it was a snow blower rather than a shovel?
So thankful you had a safe trip driving in town for your breakfast "date".
Thank for the update on the snow. My brother lives in rural New York State. My sister in Georgia and I do not miss the snowfall but we admire him how he embraces it all. He is a rugged man who loves nature and hiking but of course enjoys his cozy home with his wife, also.

  7. We've also had a lot of snow but it's been warmer down here so it hasn't accumulated like that!

  9. It seems this winter is going to be long, hard one. Glad you were able to get the appointment taken care of, and enjoy a meal together afterward.

    Take care, stay warm.

  11. So cozy but glad you were able to get around safely and Gene was able to get his infusion. No snow here but Amy said Cedar Rapids got some but not much. I hoe you have plenty of yarn and craft supplies! LOL!

  12. We were out this Friday morning to Perkins. That is a lot of snow and it is a lot to be moved for people mobility. I am sure Far Guy was starving. I have to wait later to eat breakfast and diabetic problems gives me physical problems. I had to sneak some cheese.

  14. Yes the snow is still falling here too.....the tree branches are bowing down so low under all the weight of this snow. Glad far guy had his infusion and then you had a nice breakfast/lunch at Perkins. Our Perkins, which is just a hop, skip and jump from our place, just closed a couple of months ago. We sure miss it, but hear that somebody new has bought the building and will be opening in Spring. Hope that's true. Take good care and stay warm!

  17. Definitely winter weather. Nice that you're close to the hospital and FG could get his lab work and infusion done. We're having freezing rain mixed with snow tonight and tomorrow. Good thing the truck has 4WD.
