Found

I found some of the things I was looking for.  I asked Far Guy if he wanted to join me on my hunt for a needle in a haystack and he said sure...and within ten minutes we were done.  It was a miracle.   What was I looking for?  Eight old photos from Forgotten Old Photos blog that people emailed me about over the winter...three were easy to find but five remained elusive...then I found two by myself and started the hunt again...yeah for us we found them!~  They are all ready to be mailed to their relatives.  Cross that project off my list!

Found a great Blueberry Pancake mix and we had it for supper with fruit.  Krusteaz makes it.

Found some time to work on my crochet project (Patchwork Mosaic) and the last square was completed and now work on the envelope borders begins.  The borders will be Teal....

I am a tad tired of Green, Pink and Hot Pink.

My basket will be filled with completed squares to crochet borders.   I am 11 days behind on this project due to time away from crochet for hand surgery.  Not sure that I should pick a date to be done with this project!  Perhaps months from now.

It snowed again yesterday afternoon, big huge ugly flakes.

  1. Glad you had a successful "hunt". Always feels good when you find a lost item. The crochet project looks really nice; can't wait to see the finished project.

  2. Congrats on finding "a needle in a haystack"! I am literally looking for a needle...a beading needle to finish some Halloween ornaments that have beads. I may have to order another one...I have a hard time finding my vacuum cleaner some days so a needle would be nigh impossible. (Sometimes I think I don't want to find my vacuum cleaner...lol)
Your mosaic crochet is gorgeous and I'll have to try that pancake mix. The red buds are blooming here but we are having storms every day. The weather radio is getting a workout.

  3. I wondered if the crochet will be good for healing your wrist. I bought yarn yesterday for a new little baby blanket to give to a new mother. Your project looks very difficult.

  6. I love my "to do" list! The things I do may not mean much to anyone else but it does give one a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction when even the little things are crossed off. Some days though it seems like we climbed a mountain to do anything. It's all good. Forward progress is progress no matter the rate of speed!

  7. You are back to crocheting, that is a good sign! Finding photos? Don't get me started, and I think I am organized ~ ha! Sorry about the endless Spring snow :/

  8. I'm so glad you are able to crochet again, and that between the two of you the missing photos. You accomplish so much; I would say I am envious, but actually I enjoy being lazy. :-)

  9. Your crochet project is really taking shape, but I know how you feel about getting tired of the same colors. That happens with me and quilting too. I first started following your photo blog a few years ago, in hopes that I would see some old photos of my grandmother's family. They lived in the Fergus Falls and Melrose areas. And then - we've become friends online!! I love the Krusteaz mixes - pancake and the honey cornbread.

  11. Finding things is getting harder around here, and losing things is getting easier. :-/

  12. I've not heard of the Forgotten old photos blog, so I had to go take a look. What a great idea and well done on the hunt. I should set you to searching for my great-great grandfather when he lived in Scotland. :)

The mosaic crochet is gorgeous! My afghans are much simpler and they take months to complete so I wouldn't worry about how long you take to finish it.

I hope the snow is starting to melt!

  13. I'm glad your needle in a haystack search ended well. Sometimes all we need is another set of eyes. I understand about getting tired of the same colors. Whenever I have a big project, I'm the same way. Your's is so pretty though and will be gorgeous when done. Take care of that hand. The project will be complete when it's complete.
We postponed our camping trip until tomorrow because of all of the people who were afraid we would be hit by a tornado. It's nice being retired. Every day is pretty much the same unless there is a doctor appointment. :-0 Sorry about your snow. It's supposed to snow here on Easter. Yuck.
    BLessings,
    Betsy

  18. I'm glad you found all the photos! How wonderful for the families.
No, I wouldn't worry about an end date for the crochet project. You don't want to mess up your surgery. Take it slow and easy. :) :)

  19. Krusteaz makes some great products. I love their honey cornbread. I don't know if it has the original ownership but I believe the company was started by two women. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
