I went to Card Club with Jen...they meet once a month.
It is a creative group. These are the cards we made. Of course I ordered some of this pretty paper!
We got news from back home that a friend and fellow Firefighter way back when died suddenly at home. So sad for his wife and family. Since Covid we have not seen him...I did wave at him one day in the Wally World parking lot. He always had a big smile...he was a good guy. Rest in peace Jiggs.
I guess you never know from one day to the next who will be missing.
Far Side
So sorry for the loss of you friend.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear a friend has passed on. That happens more and more as we get older. Just because it is part of "just what happens" doesn't remove the sorrow. Thinking of the two of you. It sounds like your winter move has been a good decision.
ReplyDeleteCard club sounds like fun! Pretty cards you made too. So sorry about your friend. You are so right, we never know when our time is up or anyone else's either so we must enjoy each moment that is given to us.
ReplyDeleteMy sympathies on the passing of your friend Jiggs.
ReplyDeleteThe paper is lovely as are the cards.
Those are beautiful cards. You're sure having some fun adventures while staying up north aren't you? I'm sorry about your friend. I guess that's why you have to try to live everyday with no regrets. You just never know. Take care Connie.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
Betsy
So many gone missing. Life is like a jigsaw with many holes where precious pieces are lost. One day we’ll discover them again and it won’t be from under the couch.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a creative card club! I love the paper.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. I think our public safety forces are suffering from stress related symptoms. A local sheriff's deputy in our community, only in his late 50's, suffered a massive heart attack just six weeks after his retirement and passed. Today I am reading about a deputy in a nearby county who died at his desk yesterday on his last day of employment. Lots of sadness in this season.
I think of it as "gone ahead" rather than missing. Just makes me feel still connected to them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards!! You're right about never knowing who we'll lose suddenly. We attended a visitation on Tuesday night for a good friend of my husband. He had been having some heart problems, but his death was quite unexpected too.
ReplyDeleteI love your cards, Connie, and wish I had a card club to go to. It would definitely be inspiring! I'm so sorry about Jiggs. May he rest in peace and may his family & friends find comfort in his memory. ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe are blessed to share the lives of others, even if it’s only for a short time. Love the cards you made and the paper, too.
ReplyDeleteThe cards are beautiful. Did you do the water colors or did the card stock come that way?
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear of your friends passing. As we age we become more aware of the uncertainty of our days.
The card stock came that way:)
ReplyDeleteSorry about the loss of your friend. It's a shock when someone passes away so suddenly.
ReplyDeletePretty cards.
The entire year, last year, was a tough one for us losing so many people. Even when they aren't relatives or friends there were a lot of people ill and some gone now. The cards are wonderful. Our friend Shary that we lost last February, made cards continually for every occasion.
ReplyDeleteI see now that card club doesn't mean the normal deck.
ReplyDeleteBack when my parents had card club it was to play cards.
So sorry about your friend.
So sorry to hear about your friend back home. Sending up prayers for him!
ReplyDeleteI thought you were going to play Bridge.....ha! another kind of Card Club I guess. The cards are certainly beautiful! Hope far guys trip to the clinic went well today!
That paper is beautiful! Good ol' Jiggs, we have many memories going way way back! (he was quite the ball player (softball). You are correct, he was a good guy!
ReplyDeleteYour cards turned out great, very pretty. How fun to get together and be creative with your daughter & friends!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your friend/co-worker passed on.
Card club sounds like fun. Sorry about your firefighter friend.
