I have decided that my word for 2022 is be...just plain old be. Be happy, be sad, be in the moment what ever that may be. Be kind and patient if you can be, if not be bitchy... above all else be a good advocate.
Far Guy is a bit better, I spent the afternoon with him until I fell asleep in a chair and he sent me home. He is still getting IV antibiotics and steroids.
We are having a blizzard but the roads were good in town.
Proof of life
He has a very large private room in the farthest part of the hospital. It took me longer to walk from his room to my vehicle than it took me to drive home. Hopefully we can get him home one day soon.
Far Side
Praying for Far Guy.
ReplyDeleteKeeping Far Guy in my prayers. Be safe when driving in this weather.
ReplyDeleteThat is good news to see and to hear. Yesterday I got texts from 3 different friends of the family in 3 different states. All were regarding individuals that were in ER's and were waiting for rooms due to Covid. IL, WI, MS. No hospital rooms for people with any kinds of illnesses!
ReplyDeleteDisturbing.
I am so happy he is feeling better.
Your word reminds me of the Beatle's song..."Let It Be". Glad Far Guy is improving and once again...so glad you are at your daughter's house!
ReplyDeleteBe is a good word - always a good word.
ReplyDeleteMore days come. January’s door is unlocked. More sad times, more joy too. So glad Far Guy is better, my far away friend.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good word & definition of it. My word is contentment. We had blizzard conditions here too. Karen
ReplyDeleteThe major hospital in our area where the sickest go is like that. You can spend thirty minutes walking from the room to the car easily. I hope Far Guy continues to improve.
ReplyDeleteI really like it "be".
ReplyDeleteFar Guy take it easy , you know how this getting better thing works and I know you
will do your best to help.
Good thoughts to and for both of you.
Far Guy looks reasonably comfortable in his hospital bed, as much as anyone can be. I like your word, simply taking each moment as it comes is the best most of us can do.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself as well.
He looks pretty good so they must be taking good care of him there. "Be" is a good choice for this year's word. We have the blizzard-like winds yet today, but no new snow thankfully.
ReplyDeleteGlad he has a room. Be is a good word. I think I will use it for this year, also. Life is definitely a series of challenges. Keeping you, Far Guy and your family in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteJust be. Good thoughts for 2022.
ReplyDeleteI really hope FarGuy is home soon.
So sorry to hear Gene is in the hospital = Hope he is feeling and doing better the when you go visit him, or is that not allowed? Hugs dear friend!
ReplyDeletePraying Far Guy feels better soon and can go home. "Be" perfect word for this year.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Be was my word two years ago...........this year it's hope, just hope. I hope the Far Guys gets better sooner. Be well!
DeleteHospital times are so stressful. I hope he feels ever so much better by the time you read this!!! Hugs to the both of you.
ReplyDeletePoor Far Guy!!! He looks as miserable as he undoubtedly feels. I wish him a quick recovery & home once again. Your word "Be" sounds perfect for this year!! ~Andrea xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI like your word for the year. I'm also glad that Far Guy looks better than I imagined and that you can visit with him. In Spokane, no one was ever allowed to visit. Here, I think one person per day can visit but I'm not positive it's still like that. When Mom was in the hospital last March, that was the rule but it could have changed.
ReplyDeleteTake care driving out there. We were supposed to get more snow tonight but they have removed it from the forecast. I'm glad, it's SO cold though.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
“Be” is a good word for the year. Praying the IV medication does the trick and FarGuy can be released from the hospital. Take care of yourself, too.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are in town and that getting to and from the hoapital is so much easier.
ReplyDeletePrayers going up for continued improvement.
Glad he is in a far corner out of the way of the masses! Wish they had one of those moving sidewalks for you (like in airports). Be is perfect. Just be, take your time, time to heal, time to think, time to pray. Please be sure to keep safe and drive safely. You are both in our thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you explained your word choice - BE. I haven't come up with one, but I like yours very much.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear FG is improving. I'll be leaving for my procedure soon. Spending an afternoon and evening in the hospital is not something I look forward to.
Glad to hear that FG is a bit better. And that you didn’t have far to drive in the blizzard. Hope he can come home soon.
ReplyDeleteBe is a good word, let's all hope Far Guy will BE fine
ReplyDeleteHoping FG will be home and with his breathing back to normal. Well, his version of normal anyway. Sending lots of love and virtual hugs.
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for him to improve each day. Please remember to take good care of yourself right now! I like your word for the year, especially for these days. Sometimes that is the best we can do. Prayers for you both.
ReplyDeleteTry not to be bitchy too much!
ReplyDeleteI am glad he is better. A good room helps and the dripping things will help a lot. Be is good. I am working on my patience and not be reactionary even though I want to. It would help if we could warm up a bit and not feel frozen in time.
ReplyDeleteSending prayers~ Be well!
ReplyDeleteI can see you're going to have a lot of fun with the word "be ".
ReplyDeleteThank you for the picture of far guy. I am praying diligently that he will get better and get back to you at home soon. So sorry that happened to him. May the antibiotic treatment and other things they're doing work well for him. So glad you're visiting and keeping his spirits up. Stay warm too!
ReplyDeleteGood news that Far Guy is doing better. Nice that the distance between your place and the hospital is so short ( and that the streets are passable).
ReplyDeleteIt is tough to live in the present. My hubby is really good at horribilizing!
ReplyDeleteGood that you have proof of life! I giggled!
That's a great word choice. I'm glad Far Guy is improving, and hope he can be well enough to come home soon.
