da Bear and rain

My other baby brother says "It is a polite bear"  because he doesn't strew garbage all over.  The other night he moved the huge garbage dumpster off of the cement pad.

Yesterday Far Guy looked at our trail camera photos.

da bear at our house...note there are no bird feeders out only the Hummingbird feeder....so he just moved along. He was in between the house and my small flower garden.

We are still bringing in our bird feeders every night.  When we were gone, my baby brother brought them in at night and back out in the morning.

We finally got some rain!  Some really good hard rain showers moved in and out through our area all yesterday afternoon and evening.  So thankful for rain.

  1. Thank goodness for the rain finally! That bear was just cruising through, I imagine with everything as dry as it was for you, he/she had a hard time finding food too and probably why it is visiting residences. Bears are smart and learn where to find wheat they need.
We had another nice rain here last night.

  2. Healthy looking bear! Hopefully it moves on peacefully. Might be best to put the garbage container inside your garage/building for a while.

    1. Our garbage can is in a garage. My brothers is a very large dumpster that you can only unload to a truck, he has it bear proofed but the bear can move it.

    2. Oh duh, I re-read and now see it was a dumpster. I really shouldn’t comment in my early morning fog lol.

  3. We've got a little rain in the forecast for tomorrow. It has been so dry, we welcome it too. I am glad it was a polite bear.

  4. I know it requires extra caution, but I would love living where there are bears!

  5. Could be the dryness that the bears are coming around looking for food? A pod caster out of Northern, MN said they are having more bears around the cabins then they ever remember. Glad he didn't trash anything!

  6. Interesting to see a bear in your yard. Something you don't see in Hawaii. LOL.

  7. It boggles my mind how strong that bear has to be to move a dumpster! Holy Catfish!!!!! I get spooked by the skunk that crosses my porch on our camera. I might never leave the house if I saw this guy go by! (continued prayers).

  8. That bear is SCARY!! But I'm glad he hasn't bothered anything in your yard, yet. Polite is good! All of the heavy rain stayed west and north of us, then built back up just east of us - leaving our part of the state a dry, dusty hole.

  9. Nice that your brother took in and bird feeders and put them back out. Still scary to see the bear roaming through your yard!
SOOO glad to have gotten a decent rain!! Need more, for sure. :)

  10. Wow, that is one big bear. Glad he's not sticking around your place.

We got rain too, and I'm so thankful for it. There's more in the forecast for the upcoming week too. It's about time.

  11. We were promised those same rain showers yesterday but they didn't really get going until they moved north of us. We only had a few small sprinkles with the next chance next Wednesday.
That's a great photo of the bear. He looks as though he's moving right along, nothing to see/eat here! :-) I don't think a lot of people realize just how strong they are.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  12. I have quit feeding for a while. The sock of thistle seed is out there and rarely do I get any takers. I am surprised he hangs around so much but I guess he is hungry.

  13. Well I'm certainly glad it is a polite bear. However, that is still a little too close for comfort! That's a great picture!

  14. No rain here and no bears but bears would be a shock

  15. I'm not too sure about da bear. I don't like them around. We've had some rain. It's too late to do any crops any good.

  16. Luckily there was nothing that appealed to the bear at your place. Good thing you take your bird feeders in at night.

  17. So that ole bear is still hanging around your neighborhood. Does his being "polite" make you feel any safer? ha. I guess he doesn't care for hummer food. Hope you hear from your doctors soon! I'm praying for that.

  18. I'm having run ins with a skunk in the barn. Don't feel so bad about that now haha.

  19. Well, at least it was a polite enough bear to only move the dumpster, and not tip all the rubbish everywhere.
