Off Track

I got off track yesterday.  Yes I got my two ornaments wood carved and made the ornament list for 2020...so I can check them off one by one.  I painted a few ornaments after wood burning names and dates on them....I may paint them differently..still pondering that.  I need a small paint booth and Far Guy is helping me with that.

It was very warm in the late afternoon, I came in from outside and started watching some old episodes of Little House on the Prairie...Christmas episodes...well that got me thinking about the Christmas Card for this year.  It needed to be  stamped...it is a tri fold design so it has four stamps.  This is a sneak peek at one side...it will be colored and glittered and the blank part of this side will be cut away to help reveal the other stamped parts.

Well the Misti that I bought last winter sure came in handy...it stamps in the same exact place every time (it is idiot proof)...I did  7 or 8 to begin with...it will give me something to color.  I must find a Christmas Box to put these in...since I am a box hoarder that should not be a problem! Major production on the cards will begin some day...I need more watercolor paper and a thinner bone folder.

I had a stamp I had never tried...so I had to try that one too!  Sheaves of wheat and a pumpkin and some vines...very fallish.

I missed nap time...before I knew it ...it was time to pack up my stuff and clear it off the table for supper....our garden lettuce and  a freezer meal...a Chicken Enchilada for Far Guy and a Vegetable/Hamburger Hotdish for me.   That was the last of the Chicken Enchiladas...so one cooler day I will make up another pan...cook once and eat several times!

  3. I'm going to have to learn how to make cards. I used to get them at the Dollar store but I don't go there anymore so I best start making my own! I better add that to my list. You got quite a lot done! Your Christmas card is like making 4 cards in one! You are very ambitious! I love the Fall card with the wheat sheaf. I love the one last year with the scarecrow? I save them and bring them out and decorate with them each year. I keep meaning to make chicken enchiladas. My daughter makes them and it's one of the grands favorite meals. Yes, Christmas will be here before we know it!

  7. Thinking of doing some cards too. Of course I'll probably make them out of photos though.
Hot and muggy. Theme of the week. I try to make a large meal and pack it like that into little frozen meals. Somehow, it doesn't work well for me. Uff da... Besides I do not like cooking at all! I don't mind it so much in the winter.

  8. Your Christmas card is awesome, so detailed and complicated. I might make some this year, will definitely scale way back on sending cards, now that postage is over 50 cents a card! I have never thought about making a pan of enchiladas and then freezing some of them. I just make Bruce eat them for about 3 days in a row. Good idea to put some directly in the freezer.

  9. I love my Misti. I have no idea how anyone made cards without one. It sure saves a lot of wasted paper. Araignee

  13. A trifold design--nice! I love the Misti--awesome for the larger detailed stamps because they rarely turn out well the first time for me and you can stamp again and again until they are perfect. Especially useful when you are making a whole bunch of cards for Christmas or birthdays, etc. Great little invention! Can hardly wait to see your Christmas cards! :)

  14. I love both the Fall and Christmas card designs. You are staying busy if you missed your nap! The Little House series has always been a favorite of mine along with The Waltons. I hope your Thursday is going well with appointments and shopping.

  18. Both the Christmas and the Fall stamps you used are lovely. I can just imagine how they'll look once you've finished them. IF I had any talent for it I'd make my cards and I'd investigate this Misti tool. Sounds useful.

  21. My goodness, is there anything you can't do? Your Christmas card is going to be a treasure and I really like the sheaves of wheat on the fall card.
We are frantically trying to eat the things that I bought to try to stock up for the virus. There is no room in the trailer for all of the canned goods either and they can't go in the storage unit once it freezes. I think I'll be giving a LOT of food away. The freezer is FULL to the brim too. Oops! So much for trying to prepare.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  22. It’s 190 degrees in the shade and humidity is so thick you have to part it as you walk here so it amazes me anyone can get excited about Christmas in July. I do admire your foresight. And your cards and carvings. We
