Visitors

We have visitors for a few days.

Miss Miney and Little Elvis

Miss Miney turned 14 a few days ago.  She wears Chance's old harness now.  She was really sick with Canine idiopathic vestibular disease or "old dog disease" or "Canine Vertigo"...she is better now but still loses her balance sometimes. When she got sick several weeks ago she vomited and lost her balance and fell down and she had irregular jerking eye movements. Jen took her to the Vet. She has recovered somewhat...she still falls down sometimes.   The harness helps to guide her up and down the steps safely. She is deaf but still wags her tail and seems happy.

We love having the granddogs visit...they are older like us and we all require naps.

  1. Happy birthday to Miss Miney. Sorry she's been sick, but glad she's happy despite everything, and glad you're getting to enjoy a visit from her and Little Elvis.

  3. So glad you got to visit with Miney and Little Elvis. Annie has that where she just falls down but of course with her little short legs and the carpet it isn't too bad. I just thought her back legs were going. Miney looks really good for her age and that's great she is able to use Chance's harness. Enjoy your visitors!

  4. That sounds similar to some of Mr. Morris's issues that he had during his last summer with us before we discovered he had kidney failure. LOL. Love ol beautiful dogs! These two are so beautiful!
I bet it was nice visiting with them.

  11. Wonderful! I'm sure you enjoy the time with the grandpups. Poor Miney, I've had vertigo and had no idea that dogs could get it too. Hope she continues to improve.

  13. Thank you for your sweet comment about Frannie. We're sure missing her. I'm so glad you have your Grand-dogs to visit. They are both beautiful and how wonderful that you still had Chances harness to help sweet Miss Miney. She does look happy. It's wonderful that you all have each other to love.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  15. Aw, glad you have some canine company to cheer you up. Sad that they are getting old, too — just like us. I hope you all enjoy your visit together.

  16. I am sort of envious...but not about the part of them being older. My mom always used to say she did not understand why our dogs could not live to be as old as us...
